Naurondor was Aranor's closest friend, a mentor who taught him much about his chosen profession of Paladin. Naurondor taught Aranor to honor justice, defend the helpless, and uphold the good. He also taught Aranor certain spells to aid his way. He was very displeased with Aranor's dabblings into the dark realm, but was willing to forgive his pupil. Naurondor aided the Heroes on several occasions, adding his spells to their arsenal whenever he could. He was killed by a traitorous assassin who was trying to kill King Denethor, and the Heroes mourned Aranor's loss.
