How Does Your Garden Grow?

Flutterby Variations

These beaded beads are all variations of the Flutterby bead. Because of the weight of the flower beads on the end of each strand, the beaded beads take on the look of hanging baskets of flowers. I've put them all in one necklace. However, I think each one of the main beads is enough to stand on its own as a focus.

The Poppies are red and red-orange 8mm flower beads with a black 8/0 drop in the center. The Forget-Me-Nots are blue 8mm flower beads with three 15/0s in the center. I used a blue drop in place of some of the leaves (green 8/0 drops) to represent buds. The other flower beads are all 7mm with the hole running horizontally along the bottom of the bead.

The smaller beads, Sweet Alysum, which I've used between the larger beads, are built on a 3-Triangle basic bead, with the strands worked on each side of the center Triangle, a total of 8 strands per beaded bead. Strand A (worked to the left of each Triangle: seven 15/0s, one 6mm flower bead, three 15/0s. Skip the first three 15/0s after the flower and take the needle through the remaining beads. Strand B (worked to the right of each Triangle): three 15/0s, one green 8/0 drop (leaf), seven 15/0s, one 6mm flower bead, three 15/0s. Skip the first three 15/0s after the flower and take the needle through the remaining beads.
