AERIALBOTS AERIALBOTS

Angered by the Autobots unquestioned control over the roads, Megatron commandeered five Earth vehicles and rebuilt them into Decepticons, which he dubbed the Stunticons. However, they needed to be taken to Vector Sigma, the spherical supercomputer at the heart of Cybertron, to be programmed with a mind and personality. The Autobots followed the Decepticons to Cybertron, in a effort to prevent Megatron from obtaining the Key To Vector Sigma - the device which would allow him to control the supercomputer, and programme the Stunticons as he chose. The Autobots failed in this endeavour, and Megatron had Vector Sigma programme his new troops. The Decepticons returned to Earth, but Optimus Prime hit upon an idea. Entering a spacecraft hangar, Prime and the Autobots rebuilt five space vehicles into the likeness of Earthly aircraft - new Autobots, the Aerialbots! However, their guide (and Prime's creator), the famed Cybertronian machinesmith Alpha Trion, had to merge his circuits with Vector Sigma to take control of it and programme the Aerialbots, as Megatron still had the key. With their new allies, the Autobots returned to Earth.

Megatron had since discovered that the Key To Vector Sigma was capable of de-energising Earthen objects, reducing them to completely metal and mechanical counterparts. The Stunticons' gestalt form of Menasor struggled with the Aerialbots' form of Superion, until the Aerialbot leader, Silverbolt, overcame his fear of heights, took the key back from Megatron and destroyed it.
The Aerialbots each transform into a jet plane. They are all armed with standard blasters, and can merge their forms into a giant warrior called Superion.

SILVERBOLT

Silverbolt is the leader of the Aerialbots, although in his first days on-line, he would have preferred it to be otherwise. Silverbolt was a timid Autobot, who tended to follow orders from Optimus Prime without question, instead of having to come up with his own ideas, for fear they should fail, and harm would come to anyone. Silverbolt had a gnawing fear of heights, and could barely stand to transform. However, he has since overcome this. He transforms into a Concorde.

AIR RAID

Air Raid is a warrior at heart. He loves nothing more than a good fight, or an air strike. However, his eagerness often leads to him blundering into things, resulting more often in not that danger to him and his teammates.

FIREFLIGHT

(Help! I need a picture of Fireflight, and Air Raid too!)p>

SKYDIVE

SLINGSHOT

Slingshot was originally something of a jerk. He always thought himself superior to his teammates, and believed he should lead the Autobots. He frequently disagreed with Silverbolt's command decisions, ridiculing him mercilessly over his fear of heights, claiming that he was weak and not fit to lead. However, Silverbolt's conquering of his fears and improved leadership skills have now earned him Slingshot's respect.

SUPERION

Superion is the Aerialbots gestalt form, created when they link their forms together. It was when the team first performed this move in training, and their minds joined, that the other Aerialbots discovered Silverbolt's dark secret - his fear of heights. Superion was able to hold his own against Menasor, the Stunticon gestalt, matching him in strength, but surpassing him in intelligence. Superion in capable of prolonged flight in and out of Earth's atmosphere, and is armed with a laser cannon. He is one of the more successful gestalts, as the team presently gets on well together, and the mind merge is stable (unlike Menasor or Defensor).

Investigating reports of an energy surge on Cybetron, the Autobots and Aerialbots voyaged there, to discover the surge was the result of a reactivated time machine. The Aeialbots were sucked back in time, to just before the Third Great War, where thay met and befriended a young worker robot named Orion Pax. Pax idolised the newly built robot known as Megatron, as he could fly in robot mode, but his hero worship turned sour, as it was revealed that Megatron was behind the revolutionary events that were going on on Cybertron at the time. Megatron critically injured Pax, his girlfriend Ariel, and hid best friend Dion, and stole the shipment of Energon cubes they were transporting. The Aerialbots took Pax to the neraby workshop of a mechanic (who although they didnt realise it, was a young Alpha Trion), who reluctantly (as he did not want to get involved in the revolution) repaired him. When he was finished, he was Orion Pax no more - now he was Optimus Prime! The Aeriablots, stunned that they were in fact responsible for the creation of their creator, were returned to the present by the Autobots, and told Prime their story.

The Aerialbots were not seen during the Autobot City Massacre of 2005, nor during Unicron's attack on Cybertron. However, they were seen several times during 2006, amidst several battles. When the Hate Plague (created by alien spores which were spreading through the galaxy, infecting every living thing and driving it insane) arrived on Earth, Superion fell victim to it, and went on a rampage. Vainly, Bumblebee tried to stop the gestalt warrior, but was mortally wounded by him. A rogue Quintesson, who was rebuilding the deceased Optimus Prime, was also forced te rebuild Bumblebee. Alive again, Bumblebee took the name Goldbug. The final fate of the Aerialbots following the restoration of Cybertron's Golden Age is unknown, but they are more than likely still funtional.
