STUNTICONS STUNTICONS

Infuriated by the Autobots' unquestioned control over the roads in their war, Megatron hit upon a plan to tip the balance. Appropriating five Earthly road vehicles, he rebuilt them into a new team of Decepticons - The Stunticons. However, their bodies were complete, but lacking in minds. They needed to be taken to Cybertron, so that Vector Sigma - the spherical supercomputer located at the heart of the planet - could program them with their personalities. Catching wind of his plan, the Autobots followed the Deceptcons to their home planet, but were unable to stop Megatron from stealing the Key To Vector Sigma, the device which would allow him to control the computer and make it programme the Stunticons. At Megatron's command, Vector Sigma activated the Stunticons - Motormaster, Drag Strip, Breakdown, Dead End, and Wildrider - and the Decepticons returned to Earth with the Key, as the Autobots tried to come up with a plan. As the Stunticons caused havoc on Earth, on Cybertron, the Autobots rebuilt five Cybetronian space vehicles into Autobots who resembled Earthen aircraft - the Aerialbots - and programmed them when Alpha Trion merged his circuits with Vector Sigma. They returned to Earth, where Megatron had discovered that the Key to Vector Sigma could be used to de-energise Earthen objects into metal and mechanical counterparts, and the Stunticons gestalt form of Menasor had a blow-out battle with the Aerialbots merged form of Superion, until the Aerialbot leader, Silverbolt, destroyed the Key, halting Megatron's plans.
The five Stunticons each possess the ability to transform into a fast-moving road vehicle - being the first Decepticons to have this ability - and are armed with various weaponry. The can merge their forms into a giant warrior called Menasor.

MOTORMASTER

The leader of the Stunticons, Motormaster is a brutal commander, who is thoroughly despised by his teammates. He transforms into an articulated truck, with incredibly dense armour, allowing him to survive a head-on collision with just about anything on the road. In robot mode, he is armed with an atom-smasher cannon, and an energy sword. He forms Menasor's torso.

BREAKDOWN

The intense rumbling caused by Breakdown's engine when he is in sports car mode is known to cause mechanical failures in other machines nearby. He is very paranoid, and is of the belief that everyone and everything - even normal non-sentient Earthly cars - is watching him, as he is terrified that he will be uncovered for what he really is - an alien on a strange planet. His speech pattern is peppered with mispronunciations and malapropisms. He forms Menasor's right leg.

DEAD END

Dead End is the pessimist of the Stunticons. He is very indifferent about the Decepticon cause - and everything else. He sees life as simply the way to death. He has the ability to quickly and effortlessly map terran, allowing him to lead enemy Autobots into traps - such as dead ends. He forms Menasor's left arm.

DRAG STRIP

There's nothing Drag Strip loves more than to win. No matter what the situation, be it a race or a fight, or even just trading insults, Drag Strip aims to come out on top. This frequently results in disagreements and fallouts with his fellow Decepticons. Drag Strip transforms into a racing car. In robot mode, he is armed with a gravity gun. He forms Menasor's right arm.

WILDRIDER

In sports car mode, Wildrider is beyond reckless, with no concern for other beings on the road. Some believe this to be merely an act, but his fellow Stunticons know him better - he really is that crazy! He forms Menasor's left leg.

MENASOR

Menasor is the gestalt form of the five Stunticons. He is a vicious killing machine, taking great enjoyment in battle. This love of violence, however, stems from the fact that Motormaster is so despised by his Stunticon subordinates, when they merge, there is a rift in Menasor's mind, as they try to separate themselves from Motormaster. This rift is filled with violence, which Menasor releases with relish.

After a number of battles with the Stunticons, the Autobots finally succeeded in defeating and capturing the five road warriors, who were in the process of gathering objects which Megatron would build into a super weapon. Optimus Prime, Mirage, Jazz, Windcharger and Sideswipe disguised themselves as the Stunticons, and took the objects to Megatron. When the Stunticons broke free and arrived on the scene, Mirage and Windcharger used their powers to merge the Autobots into a phoney Menasor, which then battled with the real Menasor. The genuine article had the upper hand, until the ruby stolen by the Stunticons for Megatron proved unstablem causing the super weapon to explode. Their ace-in-the-hole lost, the Decepticons retreated.
The Stunticons were not present at the Autobot City Massacre of 2005, but they were seen several times during 2006. Their final fate following the restoration of Cybertron's Golden Age is unknown.
