BLASTER AND PERCEPTOR BLASTER AND PERCEPTOR

These two were the first non-sub-group Autobots to transform into Earthly objects other than vehicles.

BLASTER

Blaster made his first appearance during the Dinobot Island incident. It was while dancing to his music that the Dinobots nearly wrecked the Autobot base.
Apparently reconfigured by Teletran One upon arriving on Earth, Blaster now transforms into a fully-functional boom box, and talks in a manner akin to an Earthen radio DJ. Whether this is a result of his reconfiguration, or whether his mode was chosen on the basis of his speech is unclear. In both robot and boom box mode, Blaster can emit waves of high-pitched sonic energy, which can be harmful to other audio sensors.
Blaster, like his antithesis, the Decepticon communications officer, Soundwave, also controls an army of his own Spy Cassttes, created when the Autobots stole the technology from the Decepticons. These cassettes (Ramhorn, Steeljaw, Eject, and Rewind) made their first appearance during the Autobot City Massacre of 2005, as Blaster tried to send a radio message to Optimus Prime on Moonbase One, and he and Perceptor were attacked by Soundwave's cassettes. Thanks to the defence of Blaster's cassettes, they survived, and as a direct result of Blaster's communication, Optimus Prime arrived with reinforcements and Autobot City was saved.
Blaster remained behind on Earth while two other groups of Autobots departed to battle Unicron. He and the other remaining Autobots rebuilt the shattered Autobot City into Metroplex, and he became a regular figure in it's management throughout 2006. His final fate following the restoration of Cybertron's Golden Age is unknown.

PERCEPTOR

Making his first appearance during the incident involving Dinobot Island, Perceptor aided Beachcomber and Chip Chase in locating the source of temporal disturbances, and then accompanying Optimus Prime and a battle unit to the island to do battle with the Decepticons.
Reconfigured by Teletran One upon his arrivel on Earth, Perceptor transforms into a fully-functional microscope. He can shrink down so he can be manually operated by humans, or he can retain his larger size to scan and analyse larger objects or situations. In robot mode, Perceptor is equipped with a shoulder-mounted scanalyser (which becomes his scope when he transforms) which is also capable of firing laser blasts. Perceptor often uses a much-over-developed vocabulary, rendering his teammates dumbfounded when he tries to explain even the simplest of things. Perceptor is a scientist at heart, and was the one who invented Corrostop, the aerosol substance which proved to be the only thing that could stop the Cosmic Rust.
Perceptor was present at the Autobot City Massacre of 2005, being the one who analysed the Decepticon threat. It was he who gave orders to Blaster to send Optimus Prime the message which saved Autobot City, although he nearly found himself scrapped by Soundwave's Spy Cassettes. Perceptor then departed for Cybertron and Unicron with Ultra Magnus and his team, but wound up crash-landing on the planet Junkion. When the attack was launched against Unicron, Perceptor did not journey inside the planet-eater. Throughout 2006, he was seen several times, and while his fate following the restoration of Cybertron's Golden Age is unknown, it seems that he reamined functional for possibly several hundred years thereafter, as he is believed to have been the one to have invented the Protoform Technology which created the Maximals and Predacons. What appeared to be Perceptor's head was glimpsed in a mass grave on Cybertron, indicating that perhaps the Megatron of Beast Machines removed Perceptor's spark and used his body in production of Vehicons.
