SPIKE WITWICKYSPIKE WITWICKY

Spike

Spike Witwicky, along with his father, Sparkplug, was first drawn into the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons not long after the robots were awakened on Earth. The Decepticons, in need of fuel to make Energon Cubes, with which to power their new space cruiser and return to Cybertron, attacked an oil rig on which Spike and Sparkplug were working. The Autobots soon arrived to battle them, but a blast from Megatron toppled the rig, hurling Spike and Sparkplug into the ocean, which was ablaze with burning oil. Optimus Prime was able to save them, and they offered to help the Autobots in their war.
Spike, while writing in his journal, just outside the Ark, came across a small tape player, which was really Soundwave, the Decepticon communications officer, in disguise. Spike unwittingly brought him inside the Ark, where he and Ravage accessed Teletran One and downloaded information about Earth. Ravage was captured, but Soundwave escaped, relaying the information to the other Decepticons, who then struck at the Sherman Dam hydro-electric plant. The Autobots planned to dupe the Decepticons, but the escape of Ravage allowed Megatron to turn the tables, and the Decepticons stole the last of the energy they needed to power the cruiser. Spike and Sparkplug participated in the ensuing battle with the Decepticons, but it was Mirage who stopped the cruiser, sending it crashing into the sea.
Spike stayed with the Autobots for the rest of the twentieth century, and beyond, going on many adventures with them. Spike and CarlyAt one point, he had his consciousness transferred into the body of Autobot X, and turned on the Autobots. At other times, he travelled to Cybertron, participated in the Dinobot Island scenario, was sent to the medieval era, and many, many more. When a young human female named Carly fell in with the Autobots, she and Spike instantly became attracted to each other, once travelling to Cybertron together to obtain Cybertronium for the Autobots, along with the Dinobots. By the year 1993, they were married, and had a son, named Daniel (Note: Daniel, who featured in the movie, was noted as being 12 in the year 2005. Ergo, he was born in 1993, so, presuming that he was born in wedlock, we can say that this is the latest possible date of Carly and Spike's marriage. If Danny wasn't born in wedlock, well, then, who knows?).
In the year 2005, Spike, who had since become a key figure in Cybertronian-Earthen relations, was stationed on Moonbase Two along with Bumblebee. When Unicron attacked the moonbases, and rapidly consumed Moonbase One, Spike and Bumblebee contacted Earth to warn them. Then, they tried to stop Unicron by blowing up the entire moon as he consumed it, while they watched from a shuttle. When the explosion did no damage, Spike was heard to utter a phrase that was quite startling - "Oh, SHIT! What are we gonna do now?" Their shuttle was then sucked inside Unicron. Shortly thereafter, Daniel and a group of other Autobots managed to get inside Unicron, and Daniel was separated from them, instead finding his father and the other captive Autobots, awaiting destruction in a pit of Unicron's digestive acid. Daniel was able to save them, and soon, the Autobot Hot Rod opened the Autobot Matrix of Leadership inside Unicron, destroying the planet-eater, and at the same time, transforming himself into Rodimus Prime.
Spike as an adultSpike became the Earthen-Cybertronian ambassador in the year 2006, aiding the Autobots in their numerous battles with the Decepticons and Quintessons in that year. In 2007, when the Decepticons attacked Autobot City and stole the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber, Spike, along with Daniel was on Cybertron. Optimus Prime contacted the Autobots on Cybertron, and warned them that the Decepticons were coming. It wasn't long before the Decepticon arrived, and Scourge took the key and opened the Chamber. The Autobots, along with Spike and Daniel, followed him, and retrieved the key after Scourge opened the chamber, and was overloaded by the energy released. However, the energy also overloaded the engines of the Autobot ship, and they were sent careening through the galaxy, to wind up crashing on a planet called Neblos, where they were captured by the native Nebulons - a group of rebels who fought against the planet's evil rulers, known as the Hive, who employed machies to do their work. Spike attempted to convince the Nebulons that the Autobots were good, but the words fell on deaf ears, until the Decepticons arrived, in pursuit of the Autobots. In the ensuing battle, Daniel was fatally wounded, and some of the Autobots were captured. The remaining Autobots employed a theory formulated by one of their number - Brainstorm - of linking organic beings to Transformers. The Nebulons agreed, and the heads of the Autobots - Brainstorm, Hardhead, Highbrow and Chromedome, along with Arcee (the sixth member, Cerebros, being a pacifist, refused) - were removed and rebuilt into exo-suits for them. The Decepticons soon fell in with the Hive, and the process was repeated with seven of their number. Then, the captive Autobots were recovered, and their weapons were rebuilt as exo-suits for the remaining Nebulons, enabling them to become Targetmasters. This process was repeated with the remaining Decepticons and Hive members. The Decepticons recovered the Key, and headed for Cybertron, along with Scorponok - a massive Decepticon Headmaster built from the Hive's city, who could transform into a mammoth battle station. Galvatron had constructed giant rocket boosters on Cybertron's surface, and used them to propel the planet into Earth's solar system. There, he used the key to open the chamber and release the Plasma Energy, which was absorbed by the sun - Galvatron was intending to make the star go supernova, destroying Earth, Cybertron and the Autobots too. Help soon arrived in the form of Fortress Maximus - Spike had convinved Cerebros to help him rebuild an old Nebulan city into an Autobot who could rival Scorponok's power. Spike became Cerebros's Headmaster partner, while Cerebros himself became the head of Fortress Maximus. Fort Max battled Scorponok and won, and then was able to rerout all of the surplus energy injected into the sun back to Cybertron, revitalising the planet, and restoring it's Golden Age. The energy backlash from the Plasma Energy Chamber blasted Scorponok - with all the Decepticons inside him - across the universe.
Spike's time of death is not recorded, though we can presume he lived for some years after this event, even though it may not necessarily have meant the end of the Great War. It is unknown what part he may have played (if any) in the development of Protoform Technology - the technology which created the Maximals and Predacons, 300 years after the end of the Great War. Though he was merely human, the courage and strength of Spike Witwicky will long be remembered.
