As different as they may be, these two fierce Autobot warriors are actually brothers, both sharing a hatred of Decepticons - and a love for speed!
SIDESWIPE
Sideswipe is a great warrior, who serves the Autobots well, maintaining a friendly rivalry with his brother, Sunstreaker.
Rebuilt by Teletran 1, Sideswipe now has the ability to transform into an Earthen Contach I sports car, with impressive speed. In robot mode, Sideswipe is armed with a flare gun, capable of firing shells which emit intense heat, and a shoulder-mounted cannon. He also has a rocket pack, capable of flight into and beyond Earth's atmosphere (Ref: "More Than Meets The Eye").
Sideswipe's current status is unknown. It is unclear whether or not he was present at the Autobot City Massacre of 2005, but it is known that he was not seen thereafter. If he was not terminated in the Massacre, he is assumed to have retired from the war.
SUNSTREAKER
Sunstreaker's skill as a fighter is impressive, but his one major fault is his vanity. Sunstreaker is the narcissist of the Autobots, and will complain endlessly if his paintwork is scratched even a little. However, should the one who scratched him be a Decepticon, he will not hesitate to blow them to scrap!
Sunstreaker transforms into a Contach II sports car, as a conuterpart to his brother, Sideswipe. In this mode, Sunstreaker has been seen to use various lasers which emerge from his trunk (Ref: "More Than Meets The Eye") and his bonnet (Ref: "The Golden Lagoon"). In robot mode, Sunstreaker is cocky in battle, believing himself to be perfect. More often that not, he has been proved very, very wrong.
Sunstreaker's current status is unknown. He was present during the Autobot City Massacre of 2005, but exactly in what capacity is unknown. He was apparently glimpsed helping Huffer and Kup set up a roadblock on Earth, but was, oddly, seen arriving with Optimus Prime on a shuttle from Cybertron the next day, as part of a team of reinforcements against the Decepticons' attack on Autobot City. It has yet to be proven which of these accounts is erronious. What is known is that Sunstreaker was not seen again after the battle, and is presumed either terminated, or in retirement.
