Welcome to the newest military academy in the United States! In fact, YSMA is so new that it is not officially open yet. The first class will begin in the Fall of 2003, barring major problems in evacuating the current population of hippy-wannabes and junior anarchists. There is a strong possibility that we will be able to secure William F. Buckley as keynote speaker during our official opening ceremony.

OUR VISION
It is the hope of the cadre of Yellow Springs Military Academy to change the image of this educational facility, nestled as it is in the rural Ohio countryside into one that reflects American values. It is our intent to bring the university into the 21st Century and out of the 1960s. As a military academy it will serve to train a new generation of American defenders, build individualism based on accomplishment and learning, and to instil an ethical foundation through spiritual guidance and philosophy.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Yellow Springs is a small college town closely associated with Antioch University. When Antioch became one of the most left-leaning schools in the country, the community associated with it came to reflect this. For instance, even though the town has a population of only about 4000 people it features its own head shop, several coffeehouses where poetry readings are a regular feature, a playhouse, several art co-ops, a Marxist t-shirt company, a goth comic book shop, a movie theater where the best of East German cinema is shown, a "psychic advisor," and twenty body-piercing/tattoo parlors. However, prospective students should also be aware that there are real towns nearby, such as Xenia and Fairborn. The area also features excellent bike trails and parks.

WHAT WE OFFER
YSMA will be a four-year military academy, offering B.A. degrees in History, Philosophy, Communications, Liberal Arts, and Classics and B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering, Military Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Campus restructuring will result in a new gymnasium capable of conducting basketball games and other sports.

HOW TO JOIN
Currently, negotiations are under way to finalize the transfer of Antioch to YSMA Education Resources Inc. When this is complete applications will be accepted for anyone age 18-26 who wishes to become a student at YSMA. Students must have a copy of their ACT or SAT results. Limited on-campus housing will be available. Financial assistance is available.
