Fate whisked Ruby from a simple life in the Louisiana bayou. But her new riches bring more treachery than happiness...

"You say the girl in the picture of Pearl in the Mist was Ruby, but it cannot be, since the novel clearly states that Ruby as well as Gisselle have red hair. I think the woman in the picture is a future image of Pearl, hence the title Pearl in the Mist. I am a redhead also, and in no lighting does my hair appear that dark."
"Regarding the people in the Pearl in the Mist novel, could that also not be Ruby and Beau in the background? Or do you think it more plausible for it to be Buck and Giselle?"
"In Pearl in the Mist, the two people in the window could be Ruby and Beau and it could be a future Pearl standing."
"If hair color is a reason that the person in the foreground is not Ruby, then it cannot be blond-haired Pearl. I agree with Gisselle and her boyfriend in the background, and Ruby, Louis, and Mrs. Clairborne in the foreground."
"I think it has to be Ruby in the front on Pearl In the Mist, despite her hair color, because who ever illustrated it, doesn't always draw it right, as in the other books for example. Also, Ruby is wearing the heart necklace, so it has to be her, and no one else."
