Edward the second was born in Exeter
England in May 1611. He immigrated to Boston in 1640. Edward married Mary Partridge
in England. Edward and Mary had ten children. In 1645 Edward set up a saw mill on the
Muddy River which is now known as Brookline Mass. In 1622 he was appointed as Clerk
of Market, a position probably created to give the Muddy River representation in the Boston
Markets. From 1666 to 1683 he served as Surveyor of Highways. Edward died November 1 1694
and was buried in Wakefield Massachuetts in the "Old Burying Ground" by the Congregational
Church. |
