I was due April 16th, 2000, but I decided I wasn't going to come until I was ready. At almost one week over due, on Friday, my mom went in for a non stress test. They found that I was comfy and cozy right where I was, so they sent my mom home. They told her to come back on Tuesday, but I'd probably be born by then. My mommy waited and waited, and I still didn't show. So she went back on Tuesday, and they found that even though she was 60% effaced and one cm. dilated, I was still happy, so they sent her home once more, telling her to come back Friday, but I'd probably be born by then. Well, Friday, she was back. So they checked her again, and this time she was 70% effaced, so they decided to induce, because it was obvious that I wasn't going to come out on my own any time soon, and mommy was very impatient to meet me. So at 4:20 p.m., they started the Pitocin, gradually increasing it every half hour or so. My mommy did very well, but then eventually decided to have an epidural. She has no idea what time this was. So then she fell asleep. When she woke up, the contractions were starting to hurt again, so they checked her and it was time to push! She did great, she only pushed for 15 minutes, and there I was! I weighed 9 lbs. 3 oz. and was 21 1/4 inches long. I had a big head too- 15 1/4in. ! I got held and fed by my grandma first (mommy's mom) and then I went to sleep, I had worked very hard. The thing my mom remembers the most is that when she first saw me I made a face that my dad makes all the time. She was too tired to notice anything else, I wonder why? Well, that's how I came into my parent's lives.
