The gifts on this page are very special to me.

January 29, 2003, I received a disturbing phone call from my mother-in-law. She told me my father-in-law has terminal cancer. This all came about very sudden. The last time I saw her, November 2002, she said everyone was doing well and they were moving from Abilene to the San Antonia area. My nephew, who is 8 years old, was diagnosed with Hepatitis C... he was born with Hep. C. They were relocating so they would be closer to his doctors. After arriving in San Antonio, my father-in-law became ill. Around this time is when he was diagnosed with cancer. At this point, Nov. 2002, he was already in stage 3b. He is now in stage 4... the cancer has spread to his lungs and heart. It has been determined the cancer was caused by Agent Orange while he served in Vietnam. The doctors say he has "weeks", not months or even a year to live.

This news just breaks my heart! Please say a prayer for my father-in-law and my family.

~ Hugs, Annette

A very special Thank You from the bottom of my heart to each of you for making this difficult time in my life so much easier to deal with!

Hugs,

A little hope to you today...

Hi Annette!

I hope that this poem may help give you strength and courage in this darkest of hours:

Calm waters flow softly
Filling me with peace.
Calm waters flow softly:
Giving me release
Just when I'd swear that I'm drowning
And the tide of life will pull me in.
The wind blows sweetly, whispering still,
You're not forgotten, hold on till
Those Calm Waters flow softly with peace.

Calm Waters flow softly
And I drink the cool of the deep.
Calm Waters flow softly:
Mountain pure; the tears that I weep.
The sun and heat beat upon my brow
Until I'm dry and wondering now
Where is the way to the beautiful stream,
Where healing flows so sweet and clean?
There, Calm Waters flow softly with peace.

I dip my cup and drink of the draught,
And all my troubles seem as naught.
Those living waters come from Him
Who heals my soul again, and again.
Calm Waters flowing softly with peace
