TENNESSEE
COOKIN'
The Volunteer state
got its nickname thanks to David Crockett and his band of Tennessee
Regulars going to Texas to help defend the Alamo. The state has
the Great Smoky Mountains and all that they offer, Nashville is
home to the famous Grand Ole Opry and its country music, and the
woods, hills, and streams provide outdoor activities and exquisite
scenery to please the most discriminating visitor. All of these
things pale in comparison to the home-cooking offered from one end
of the state to the other. Recipes handed down for generations or
newly invented concoctions insure that people eating in Tennessee
will be well fed. TENNESSEE COOKIN’ provides some of the familiar,
as well as a few lesser-known recipes used in providing the unique
characteristics of Tennessee cooking.
