**In order to use real time credit card processing you must first have both an Internet Merchant Account and a compatible Gateway Account. If you are NOT planning on using the real-time credit card processing feature (during customer checkout) and will simply have the store record the customer's credit card information for later manual processing, then you can use ANY merchant account and ANY gateway account you prefer. A compatible gateway is only required by those customers who require the convenience of the automated real-time processing during customer checkout.
