Computer Tips PageWindows stores information in files just like a filing cabinet. Keeping your files organized will help you find a file when you need it. Sometimes it is necessary to create a new folder. This instruction shows the easiest way to create a folder on the desktop. Later we will use Windows Explorer(this is Windows version of a file cabinet) to move our new file to a more appropriate location.
1. Use your mouse to right click on the desktop screen.
2. Highlight "New" in the first box and "Folder" in the second box. Left click 3. A new folder will appear on the desktop. It is called "New Folder". 4. Right click on the folder and highlight "Rename". 5. Type in the name of your folder.
