Distance
The two competitors must stand side by side, shoulder to shoulder,
and they must both choose one person to take a pace sides
away from there opponent, for a safe yet competitive distance.
Who goes first?
To decide who is going to be the first competitor to jab their opponent, the referee will flip a coin and
a one of the opponents (the referee chooses) will call
either HEADS or TAILS.
Jabbing
Each competitor must receive the punch with the same arm
with which they are hitting their opponent.
Each competitor must jab with one arm and may not switch
during the game.
The referee has the final say and the rules will not
be negotiated at any time.
The definition of a ‘Jab’:
- Competitors must jab with the same arm they receive the punches in.
- They may only jab and not swing, a jab is defined in our rules
as a reflex of the competitors arm which is not swung backwards prior to hitting their opponent, if during the game a competitor swings their arm backwards that goes any higher than their shoulder, the referee reserves the right to penalize the competitor or in severe cases disqualify depending on the severity of the miss-hit.
- Should a component deliberately swing into a punch at anytime
during the game, the other opponent gets awarded two free swings or a ‘one-two, one-two’ jab combo into the opponents arm.
- In each dual each competitor must take a minimum of 10 jabs,
unless of serious injury, in that case the referee must stop the dual from continuing.
Accepting/Declining a dual
If approached an asked to dual, you may either declined or accept. When you accept a dual you have another two choices you can choose to dual there and then or dual at a later time that day. If you accept a dual and later on you withdraw, then that counts as a forfeit and consequently you lose the dual. Declining a dual does not mean you have just lost.
Points
- 5 points will be awarded to the winner of a dual.
- 3 points will be awarded to both of the competitors if both
competitors decide to end the dual.
- 1 point will be awarded to the loser of a dual.
- 10 points will be awarded to the winner of a dual if they win
within 10 jabs
- 3 point will be deducted to the competitor who loses the dual
before the minimum of 10 jabs.
