Building the PegaStol Wings

The main purpose of this section is to help my fellow builders build the best wing available for the Zenith 701 and other aircraft as specified in the PegaStol Web Site.

First let me say that some of the things I will say are my opinion based on my experience and I take total blame or credit for them.

Why did I chose to go with PegaStol?

The PegaStol wing kit is one of the best prepared kits I have had the experience to build.  However, there is always a down side, the instructions are very lacking in many aspects.  Although I will show as much of the building as I can, I will emphasize the sections that gave me the most trouble understanding how to construct them.

You will receive your PegaStol wing kit via Air Freight.  It will come in a single 16 foot long wooden box.  It is very well packed and organized.  It looks like this.

The picture above was taken in September 2003.  I unloaded and looked through everything, but did not inventory.  Fortunately, when I did get around to building my kit, a year later, I only had a couple of small parts I could not locate and was able to build them.   My suggestion to all is to do a complete inventory very shortly after you receive your kit before they (Dedaluis) forgets who you are.

The first part you will build is the automatic slat mechanisms.  You will be pleasantly surprised to find that the first slat mechanism is already built for you.  You have to build the other seven.  Since you have an example to go by this is no major task, plus the instructions are relatively clear.  Set them aside for later.  They look like this.
