A valid passport with more than 6 months to the expiry date is required. Visas are necessary and can be obtained at embassies. If your country doesn't have a Tanzania embassy, High Commission or Consulate which can issue a visa, you can get one at all points of entry.

You will need two colour photos (1.5 x 1.5 inches) and the fee which is US $50.00. The Tourist visa lasts 30 days and allows for a double entry, on payment of re-entry fees within the valid period of the original visa. Visas can be extended for a total of 120 days at a fee of US $1.00 per day. If you overstay your visa, the fine is 100% plus the regular visa extension fee.

Consider bringing along your international vaccination certificate and record of medical history in the unlikely chance it might be needed.
