Jane Goddess

Jane Lane is Daria's best (and practically only) friend. For the most part, she shares Daria's perception of people and the world in general. However, Jane is slightly more outgoing than her friend and had a steady boyfriend, Tom, up until the last episode of Season 4. In the movie, she was hit on by a fellow artist, Alison, but nothing came of it.

Of all of her family, Jane is definitely closest to her older brother, Trent, who is probably her other best friend. The two of them have been getting closer through the seasons, and he was a big part of getting Jane back on her feet after "the Tom thing".

Jane's typical attire consists of dark grey almost-knee-high boots, black leggings, rolled up greenish-grey shorts, a black V-neck shirt with a white collar, and an unbuttoned red man's shirt over the V-neck. She also has three small silver hoop earrings in each ear and wears red lipstick.

Jane's Trivia:

- She's an ambidexterous artist, which means that she can, and sometimes does, paint with both hands simultaneously. (This is very weird to see!)

- She's the only main character with an eye colour - blue

- She runs every day and once joined the Lawndale Track Team in "See Jane Run"

- She seems to be able to speak fluent Spanish

"When they say 'You're always unhappy,' what they mean is 'You think, Daria, I can tell because you don't smile. Now this guy died, and it's making me think, and that hurts my little head and makes me stop smiling. So, tell me how you cope with thinking all the time, Daria, until I can get back to my normal vegetative state'." ("The Misery Chick")

"A weekend on the world's tallest pile of seagull droppings is starting to look good." ("The Teachings of Don Jake")
