CHAPTER THREE

The Arms

You can have the arms hang down, or you can control them, I chose to control them, which looked really cool, it doesn't have a lot of movement, but it can do some things. The arm is two pices of the smaller PVC pipe (1/2") wired to getherfor a joint, one piece is about 20 inches, the other is 32 and 1/2 inches:



If you look towards the bottom of the picture you can see a big thick with thing !!!!! Look at the !!!!! and look right up , see it, thats the glove stuck on with wire then stuffed. Simple right? The Arms are wired together were they meet, they are wired at about, 8 inches in on the longer piece of PVC. I made a hinge out of the wire by drilling all the way through BOTH PVC pipes then put wire through and twisted it.
Use THICK wire for all hinges. As you can see their is a little bit of PVC sticking out behind the hinge, this is so I good hold it in the costume. Repeat all the steps and you have yourself a pair of arms! Okay I reccomend not attaching the arms yet, till Chapter Five! But it's your choice!!
To attach the arms to the main frame you will need to drill a hole at the very end of the SMALLER piece of the PVC piping and directly under the "Elbow" fitting on the frame, attach with either thin or thick wire, I used thin

That is about it for the arms, now you should have BOTH arms attached, try on the backpack and frame and see how it feels, play with the arms, ect. TAKE A BREAK!!
