Elgin Pocket Watch

Here are photos of an 18 size Elgin pocket watch, one of the nicest Elgin watches I have seen. The hands are exceptionally fine, but this makes them delicate. Few watches were made in 1895 with 17 jewels (most Elgin watches had 7 jewels). The balance wheel has a single roller. This watch has a micrometric regulator and a blue steel hairspring with a Breguet overcoil. The mainspring barrel has stopworks, which is very unusual. The plates have a slot for two strips of steel that keep dust out.
