Part 3:

Warm sunlight filtered through the curtains into the room of the Thundercat Cheetara.  It stretched across the carpet and onto the faces of two sleeping figures, Chetania and Cheetara.  Chetania was sitting in a chair next to Cheetara'a bed.  A blanket was draped over her.  Cheetara was in bed.  Her eyes were red and puffy from crying most of the night.  The nightmare still lingered in her mind and it had taken Chetania and Tygra an hour to calm her down.

The door opened and Tygra stepped in.  He had bags under his eyes from staying up most of the night.  He saw the two cheetah siblings sleeping and smiled to himself.  Chetania stirred.  She opened her eyes and looked around sleepily.  She spotted Tygra and smiled.

"Good morning." She said rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning," he answered back, " Did you get much sleep?"  Chetania looked at the clock on Cheetara'a nightstand.  It read 7:30a.m.

"About three hours." She said.  "Cheetara was a wreck and it took me forever to get her to go back to sleep.  She wouldn't stop crying.  She kept saying that we were all dead and that she wasn't able to save us.  Do you think that she will be okay?"

Tygra rubbed his chin and thought very hard.  "This has been very traumatic, but I think that she can pull out of it." He said.  'I hope she can.' He thought to himself.  He looked down at her sleeping figure.  He loved her so much.  He couldn't lose her.

Knocking on the door pulled Tygra out of his thoughts.  He opened the door and Panthro stood on the other side.

"There you are." Panthro said in relief.  "I have been looking for you guys everywhere.  Lion-O's holding a council meeting and wants everyone present. Come on."

Tygra looked over at Chet and Cheetara.  Chet looked back and shrugged her shoulders.  She took a sideways glance at the still sleeping Cheetara.

"What's wrong?" asked Panthro.

"Its just, um, well you see, uh" Chet started.  She looked at Tygra for help.  She didn't want to tell Panthro about Cheetara's dream.  If she did then all kinds of questions would be asked and only Cheetara knew what happened. Tygra was thinking the same thing.

Suddenly, Cheetara started to wake up.  Chetania and Tygra raced to her bedside leaving a very confused Panthro standing in the doorway.  Cheetara let out a groan and slowly sat up.  She opened her bloodshot eyes and looked around.

"Oh, my head hurts so much." She groaned.  She grasped her head and swayed a bit.  Chet grabbed her shoulders to steady her.  Cheetara regained her composure and looked up to see Panthro.  The nightmare came flooding back to her.  She saw Panthro's body beaten to death.  Tears welled up in her eyes and before Chet and Tygra could stop her she bolted out of bed and flung her arms around Panthro.

"You're alive!" she wailed.

Panthro looked terrified and confused.  "Of course I am alive Cheetara. What's the matter?"  He asked.

Cheetara told him all about her dream.  When she came to the end Panthro's face was a mixed color of green and white.  The descriptions were sickening and frightening.  He looked over at Chet and Tygra.  He gave them a questioning look.  They looked at each other and nodded.

"I'll take Cheetara to sick bay," Tygra said.  "There I can run some tests and perhaps calm her down.  Chet will go with you to the council room to brief the others.  If there is a possibility that this could happen, then we must be alert." He finished.

Chetania and Panthro nodded in agreement.  Cheetara was now sinking to the floor.  She was so weak from crying that she was losing her strength.  Tygra ran over and lifted her into his arms.  She continued to sob.  He nodded to Chet and Panthro and set off toward sickbay.
