How to record E.V.P.'s
This may help those of you starting out in the evp area of investigation. When I first tried to record EVP I had the idea that I wasn't supposed to talk while recording, well needless to say I had little luck with my results. I then asked Brendan Cook of the G.I.S. (a group that has been made "famous" because of their fortunate and vast Evp collection) he told me that in order for a spirit to talk on the tape it helps to talk to them or amongst yourselves while investigating, it gives the entities something to interject and comment on. How many times do you talk to yourself. Also you need to make sure your recorder is set to the fast speed (2.4) it may make your tape run out faster but it seems to really make a difference in the results, and what would you rather have 5 tapes with no EVP's but hours of you talking, or 5 tapes with an hour of talking and 10 Evp's. Also I cannot stress how important a external microphone is, but when you spend hours going over tapes only to hear the grinding of motor noise you will understand what I mean.

Networking

I cannot stress how important it is for newbies to the Ghost Investigation trade to network. I have learned most of what I know about investigating from talking with others that have had more years of investigating than I. When you first start out you probally don't have the expensive tools and equipment that others have had time to collect, but you can get some incredible stuff with just a 35mm camera and a micro cassette recorder, if you learn to use your senses that god (or whoever) created us with. Then as you go you can start to purchase some of the things that really lower your development charges for film etc.. But I would start by getting in contact with some of the more established societies in your area, usually they are glad to help a newcomer out. Yes there are no experts in this feild of research, but there are people out there who know alittle more than you might.

Entity Detector Wind Chime
This is a good project and has decent results. The materials you will need are: Thin Light Weight Metal, Nails, Hammer, Curtain Rod, String, Reflective tape or Glow in the dark paint.

Take the Metal and cut it into 8-10 strips 6-8 inches long. put whoever many holes you need into the curtain rod (drill works best but you can use the nail). cut the string into 7-8 inch sections and tie each piece of string to the holes in the curtain rod. Paint or put the tape on your metal strips and let dry. Once dry tie these to the pieces of string hanging down form the curtain rod. Your done now go test them at a site. It is best to put these in doorways (thats why I suggest curtain rods because they will fit well in any doorway) but you can also hang them from the ceiling. it is also best to have many of these throughout the location in hallways etc.. If they move or you hear them chiming you know youv'e got something.
