This will be Rob's second year as guard director and caption head for the Colonial Heights High School Visual Ensembles. He also serves as the guard caption head for the J. R. Tucker High School Guards from Richmond, VA. Before coming to CHHS, Rob was the caption head for the Annandale High School Guard Programs in Fairfax County, VA.

During the summer, Rob is the Head Designer for the George Washington High School Marching Band from Danville, Virginia and flag designer for Southern Regional High School Fall and Winter Guards from Manahawkin, Long Beach Island, New Jersey.

In addition, Rob is the Artistic Director of Ovation Winter Guard, formerly Revelation Winter Guard, a member of Winter Guard International (WGI) and the Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA) based in Richmond & Fredericksburg, Virginia. In 2000, Revelation Winter Guard placed 7th in WGI World Championships, Independent A. Rob holds a Speech Communications and Public Relations Degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.

Rob has instructed and designed for the Tarheel Sun Drum and Bugle Corps from Cary, North Carolina and has taught and consulted with numerous high schools fall and winter guard throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Rob has been on the guard staff with Fiesta-Val for four years serving as the Winter Guard Instructor during the Mid-Atlantic Band Front Camp, Fall Guard Instructor during Summer Marching Band Camps and Winter Guard Adjudicator during Spring Fiesta-Val competitions. In the spring of 1999, Field and Floor Magazine ranked Rob as one of the Top 10 Winter Guard Performers in the world.
