Louet Drum Carders

Louet has been manufacturing Drum Carders for more than 20 years for the market world wide. Several important features are worth noting that sets Louet apart
from other drum carder manufacturers.Louet drum carder has no feed-in tray. To feed the Louet, take some fiber in your left hand and have the intake drum pull this fiber out of your hand while you turn the crank on the large drum with your right hand. You will develope a kind of sliver between your hand and the intake drum. This is a fiber preparation akin to the teasing required for other drum carders, and therefore is a time-saving feature.
Louet drum carders has a 1/2" high carding cloth instead of the 1/4" of other carders, thereby resulting in a batt that is twice as thick.
No adjustments are necessary. All adjustments to the Louet drum carder are made at the factory. The closed gearbox requires no maintenance or adjustments. The guards on the sides of the drum protects the shafts of accumulations of fiber thereby saving cleaning time.
Another important feature to note is the teeth on the carding cloth are placed in a way that allows them to flex in the direction of the carding action thereby causing less fiber breakage.
