Mad
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

     Expected or unexpected
     It's still fatal.
If things weren't bad enough already,
     They got worse,
     Because you accepted them.

     He's mad
     And now so am I.
     The difference is
That I don't take it out on you.
     If it's not your fault,
Then you shouldn't be the one to get the blame.
You shouldn't be the one crying.

     Madman,
     That's what I call him
     Because that's what he is.
     This is his paradise
     Because every night
He gets away with it all.

     He's mad,
     I'm mad
     And now so are you.
You're mad 'cause you've lost your mind.
I say this...because you've accepted this as your fate.
He's mad at something he can't battle as always.
So he takes it out on you so he can feel as if he won.
     You're mad
Because the crutch you call God
     Has handed this to you.
With all the belief you have within you,
Why should this be your test?
     I'm mad
Because you try to play this off.
     You label it as affection.
     Hugs are affectionate.
     The back of a hand
     Or a closed fist aren't.

     We're all mad
Because there's nothing we can do.
We just sit by and accept these things.
     He still hits you,
     You still get hit
And I'm not allowed to do a thing.
