House of the Demon
The home of the Battle Demon is Mt. Brok, created in a battle that took place within the old home of the Manor clan. Using balefire the demon accidentally created the mountain which is topped by the old Manor. On the side of the mountain is a cave he uses as his den, several spells guard access to the lair.
Guardianship Spells include:
Temporal displacement - This powerful Time dispacement spell is somewhat similiar to time maelstrom, which prevents temporal spells and dimensional travel to the interior of the cavern. This prevents rifting and teleportation into the lair. Sorry, can't just appear there.
Doomsday Statues - Two Rune statues, indestructible will attack all intruders for a duration of three minutes. They have fire breath and claws they use in combat. The fire has a 20 foot range. They may only become active for three minutes a day as they require much energy to animate. Location: Halls of Vaught.
Skeletal Warriors - The Chamber of the Dead contains the remains of Brok's kills. These are enchanted to animate when any creature with magic enters the chamber. Each weild the powers they did in life, but only to a tenth of the degree they once did. Still a force to be reckoned with, and every intruder thatfalls to them...add to the number and power of these guardians. They can be stopped by physical means, but magic is ineffective. One hit will put each down. Current number: See Kills page and subtract the number of ressurections in the Arena section.
The lair is divided into sections. Upon entering the cave you come po the Halls of Vaught first, and magic users will note the failure of travelling spells. A foreboding sense will fill all present (a minor enchantment) and animals will instinctively want to flee the area.
Passing through the halls of vaught will lead to the chamber of death. A large chamber about thirty feet high and forty feet wide. Bones are scattered around the room (see above) and at the far end stands a statue of the baal'rog demon Brok Redman. The eyes of the statue are large rubies (no innate magic ability) and from the mouth drips the blood of the fall victims into a pool at the feet. One either side of the statue is a door. One is labeled 'Life' and One is labeled 'Death'. There is also a set of stairs carved in the floor in the center of the room leading down.
The Halls of Life: Six doors, three on each side of the hall, the end of the hallway a dead end. Runes are carved over the door in the High Speech of Irendi. On the left side are the words Love, Innocence and Admiration. On the right side are Hatred, Defilement and Putrification. Each door leads to a seperate world based on our own. Alternate realities. ((Game master use your imagination.))
Halls of Death: Three doors at the end of a hallway stand before you. Life, Death, and Immortality. Each will grant what the door says... on the floor are three boxes. Each box corresponds to one of the doors. They are the keys to the doors. There is a warning carved on the wall: "To receive your wish, you must be the right person to move the cubes..." ((Gamemasters, mail me for the details of what this means.)) Inserting the wrong cube into the doors will kill the one who tries and seal the doors from all those present in the lair.
The lair of Brok is deep within the bowels of the mountain. As you come down the staircse you reach a large hall, ornately decorated with jewels and gold trimmings. At the end of the hallways stands a great door with a protection circle embroidered on it directly on the center. Past the door lies the inner chamber. A portal stone sits in the middle of the floor for access when the mountain is in temporal flux. The demon has placed several of these stones around the world so he may be able to get into the lair easier and as a precaution should he need to escape. Off to the side of the room is a large bed, and along the back wall are many torture devices. Racks, guillotines, and other medieval equipment lines the wall. There are also shelves filled with artifacts and pieces of dismembered animals and plants contained within jars along the wall which contains the door you just passed through. A third wall contains a bookcase full of books containing scrolls. Each of these books contains nearly one hundred pages each with a different spell scrawled across the page. The fourth wall has skulls lining the shelves. Several are demonic in origin and give of the radiance of magic energy. The sanctuary reeks of magic and danger. On the walls are symbols or runic origin and those who can read runes will see that it is a curse. The warning tells all who can read it to take nothing from this room under penalty of torturous death. ((Yeah, I warned you!!!))
That's as much as I'm willing to say on the home of Brok Redman. If you want to know more and are going to quest in the mountain, mail me.
