Naturalizations of Immigrants from County Meath, Ireland at Rutland, Vermont (1838-1860) My great-great-grandfather, James Mumford, immigrated from Meath, Ireland and settled in Rutland County, Vermont. (My thanks to Jim Burke for finding James Mumford's naturalization record.) I compiled this list of other early immigrants from Meath who were also naturalized or made their declaration of intent in Rutland County. The original naturalizations often listed Meath as “Maith” or “Mead”. I’m listing all as “Meath”. I have tried to match the town or parish listed with the online sites “Irish townland database” or "Irish Ancestors", and I noted the closest sounding town or parish if there was no match.
