LADIES AUXILIARY TO VFW POST #6982 COALDALE, PA.
Little information is available on the history of the original Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. It is believed they organized in the late 1940’s and served until disbanding on October 2,1970. Pictured below, the 1969 installed officers: Elizabeth Pavlick, Agnes Negri, Bernadine Hook, Mildred Radocha and JoanEllen Frendak.
In 1997 the VFW Ladies Auxiliary reorganized with 34 Charter Members.

Although small in number, the Ladies Auxiliary strives to help our veterans and current military forces overseas. All that we, as citizens, have today we owe to the brave men and women who "answered the call". It is now our turn to let them know how much we appreciate all they did, never forgetting their sacrifices. Some of our activities include: collecting food for the needy through our local St. Vincent DePaul Society, assisting local fire victims, collecting coupons to send to overseas military personnel to be used up to six months after expiration in military stores. The Auxiliary participates annually in the Panther Valley Jr. ROTC awards program, and accompanies our VFW Color Guard in local parades. We work hand in hand with our Post and Color Guard and recently sponsored and hosted a benefit dance to collect money for the needs of a local six-month-old leukemia victim. Our Auxiliary makes regular donations to the local American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Ranch for Children, and Veterans Hospitals in Lebanon and Wilkes-Barre.
