Wow! I have sure neglected my pages and my story of how well Ivory is doing. She is now up to 9 points and has her first Best of Breed and Best of Winners and two Best of Opposite Sex under her lead. *grin* She has been doing super!! We went on a three week trip last month and kicked butt!! We have been very busy and I have a new little baby, her name is Kandu's Sunnyside Up. My lovely other mother, Peggy, gave her to me as a birthday gift. Isn't that over the top?? Just love that woman!! Thanks Peggy!! ( I think ) *LOL*
It's a perfect name for her as I'm certain she is lucky and hopefully my first champion in Confirmation! *S*

Ivory's First Point Win!!

Cindy Jones of Senoj's Maltese is the breeder I got Ivory from. I have decided that it was meant for her and I to be together
and travel down the dog show road as companions. *S* I am looking forward to the journey....and excited! *G* It starts
tomorrow!!! We have a fun match to go to and I am looking forward to showing off my new baby and of course anxious to see how she handles the whole show scene. Hopefully if I am doing my job right she will love it! Even though Ivory has been trained she has never been shown. So tomorrow is going to be interesting if nothing else! *S* On that I shall leave so I can get much needed beauty rest for the big event! TTFN.....

Ivory placed fourth in group in her first show,
first in adult group, 2nd and winners reserve naturally she
did place 1st in her class a few times also but I am most proud of the group
placements. *G* We have two four days shows coming up the middle of January, so keep
your fingers crossed for us! *S* TTFN......
Ivory did very well in Bosie in Oct. She even went all the way to group and WON in the fun match!! And it
was FUN!! Except when the great dane came in the ring and scared my poor tiny
baby. *L* I was shocked when the judge picked Ivory. She didn't show well at
all after the Great Dane scared her, so it was very much a surprise!!(hmmmm I should add that photo here!

Ivory is continuing to do well. This week so far she placed
1st in her class, placed 2nd and took winners reserve when she showed against her
sister Ivy at the Portland Expo show. I'm very proud of her.
We (I) *L* still need a lot of practice!! But we're hanging
in there! *S*

The Maltese club I belong to, Pacific Rim Maltese is having their 2nd annual
Specialty on May 29th and I think we will be ready by then. Ivory is so smart
and so eager to please. It is spring and we are loving the out doors.
Training has been going well.
Because of the whole slide situation Ivory and I missed our club's 2nd annual
specialty show. *CRY* It fell on the day we had to move into the 5th wheel trailer. *sigh*
But we have Brush Prairie coming up next weekend. Am very nervous, been so
long since we have been in the ring. Have gotten several classes in though
so hopefully they will help. Poor Ivory had a frightening experience
while we were living in the trailer a rather large dog chased her,
knocked her over and knocked the breath out of her. She hid under the trailer
and wouldn't even come out to me. It has effected her in the ring. She
is now afraid to have any dog behind her. This is a BAD thing. There
are almost always dogs behind you. So we are working on that right now.
The big show for this area is Brush Prairie. Am both looking forward to and dreading it. *L*

Well we survived the dog show! *L* Boy was I a wreck on Sunday. Felt
very much like the "newbie" I am!! *L* We had a mediocre day on
Sunday and felt we could have done much much better. She did take her
class, however she was the only one in her class. *L* We are always
told we never say how many dogs are in the class, just how one places
in the class. (she was the only one) *gikkles* Monday however we were
much more calm and prepared to show. She again took her class,
and she did take winners reserve beating out her breeders
entry!! We both handled ourselves better and I am well
pleased with both of us but most particularly Ivory. She is a little
pro in the ring!! Our next show is in about 3 weeks in Lacey,
about an hour north of us and the following weekend another
show in Tacoma. We are taking handling classes every Saturday
except show weekends. They are given by a judge and last Sat.
she said she loved to see dogs like Ivory who just turn on in
the ring. *BEAMING* Told you she was a little pro. *G*

Well yesterday was the Evergreen Maltese Specialty and we had
a very good time!! *G* Got to visit with lots of nice people,
learned a few things which is always a good thing!! *S* Ivory
showed well but not as well as she did last Sunday at Lacey.
I am very happy with her 4th place postion though. She beat
out a professional handler and his entry. *S* Any time
I get put up (Ivory gets put up) *L* over a pro handler we
are tickled pink!! *G* All those classes are starting to pay
off!! Next show is the 5th thru the 8th of Sept in Eugene Or.
Am looking forward to it mostly because I get to meet my
online daughter Jennifer!! That will great!! *S* We stayed for
the dinner and auction after the show and had a GREAT time. I
bought a maltese watch and bid and got a nice "t" shirt with
a lovely painting of a Maltese on it. Got into a couple of
bidding wars (all in fun) with a couple of the Evergreen
members! That was FUN!! I love auctions. So does my right
hand. It just seems to pick up my number and wave it all on
it's own. And it is picky bout what it bids on and how much
it bids too! *LOL*
