Pokemon Gold/Silver have been announced to be released in the U.S. October of 2000! I will be adding information on this game as time progresses. I have found out that there will be 3 different starting Pokemon that you may have never seen! Here are their images.

Pokémon Gold and Silver are sequels of Green(Japanese only), Yellow(to be released Oct. 1999), Red, and Blue. In these versions, you will have a new places to explore, and there will be about 250 pokémon (100 new ones). Actually, since you are allowed to breed Pokemon(time to get out the Dr. Frankenstein gear), there will be over 100 new Pokemon! The new Pokémon will have some new moves/abilities and Tms will be reassigned to new Pokemon. You can still swap the gold and silver Pokémon with red/blue cartridges; however, the new pokémon won't work in the red/blue cartridge. For example, there is an evolved form of slowbro(Slowking, I think) in the gold game. If you trade it to a blue cartridge, it would be a slowbro instead of the evolved form. It gets "devolved." There will also be different genders for each pokemon, like the nidoran from red/blue. As stated before, this means breeding. You can also cross breed and produce variations. Another new feature is the concept of time. The game will have a timer so that there will be nocturnal(night-time) Pokémon who are only active during the night, and you probably have to wait for some pokémon to wake up! There will also be a skateboard added to your collection of road traveling gear. Nintendo has announced the Gold/Silver delay in order to make it a Color game.
