Pokémon Stadium

Pokémon Stadium, the most anticipated N64 Pokémon game, is hitting shelves in March. More specifically, March 6 at Wal-Mart and 10 at others. The Transfer pak(aka 64GB) will be included with Pokémon Stadium and will allow you to upload your Pokémon onto the Stadium game pak to battle. The Transfer pak will also allow you to play your Red/Blue/Yellow game on your TV to give your GameBoy a break. There is also a picture area where you get a chance to take a picture of your Pokémon. One feature is the TM/HM feature. This feature allows you to easily skim through your TMs and HMs to teach your Pokémon! You can also trade Pokémon easily if you have 2 Transfer paks.

There are three main modes to Stadium--Kids Club, Free for All battles, and Gym Leader Battles. Within the Kids Club, you can play fun mini-games that are appropriate for all ages. The easy mode is very easy for more advanced players, but the harder modes are quite challenging. The Free for All Battles are for multi-player and practice rounds. The Gym Leader Battles are the serious thing. There are 3 cups within this--PokéCup,Prime Cup, Petit Cup, and PikaCup. The PokéCup is the official cup of the Pokémon League. Your Pokémon may be between the levels of 50 and 55, the total level cannot be above 155. This means, of course, you may have only 3 Pokémon. The 3 Rule applies to most areas of Stadium.

In Gym Leader Castle, you must battle the 8 Gym Leaders for the badges and a chance at beating the Elite Four. Before you can fight a Leader though, you must face 3 opponents. If any Trainer beats you, you must begin once again at the beginning until you can reach the top. The Elite Four waits at the very top to defend their title as the Elite. Once again, your rival awaits at the top. Once you complete all the cups and Gym Leader Castle, the everpowerful Mewtwo will challenge you to a battle.

If you don't have your own Pokémon, you can rent the 149 available ones in the game(Mewtwo and Mew don't appear unless you have them in your other games). Any Pokémon that have been enhanced by GameSharks and such will not be able to enter Pokémon Stadium.

Train your Pokémon well, oh trainers! Instead of catching one wild Pokémon, catch several of the same breed. Wild Pokémon stats vary greatly. Keep the one that has the best stats. Use Carbos, Protein, Iron, Calcium, and others to max out your Pokémon! Remember, a Pokémon can only receive ten of those items, so use them wisely. HP and PP UP will also behoove you on your quest. Be prepared to fight long hard battles, using Poison and Sleep attacks will be to your advantage.
