Just about every fly fisherman has dreamed at one time or another about taking summer steelhead on a fly, but not all get a chance to live that dream. In this issue we'll learn a little about the fish, the rivers, and the flies. 
Dr. David Burns is a Master Fly Tyer and has been a Forest Fisheries Biologist for the Payette National Forest stationed in McCall, Idaho for the past 30 years. He weighs in with his unque perspective in a short article about summer-runs and the flies. We'll also take a peak inside his fly box see some of his new fly submissions. 
Guest author and contributing fly tyer, Dennis Dickson continues his series about flies that have been highly successful for his guides, telling one of his typically amusing anecdotes followed by step-by step instructions for tying his favorite surface fly for summer steelhead, the Crystal Caddis. 
Oregon contributing fly tyer, Willam Lovelace is near some of the best summer steelhead water in the country and knows what flies they like. In this issue, we'll see more flies for summer steelhead from his vice, adding to his already prolific contributions to this site. 
Idaho contributing fly tyer, Clark Lucas, whose signature spey flies have graced these pages since 1999, was mentored by Dr. David Burns. In this issue we will hear about some of Clark's favorite flies and fly tackle for summer runs while visiting his updated spey fly pages.
