Sea-Run Cutthroat Fly Patterns |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
These flies are just a small selection of attractor patterns for coastal cutthroat. It is about to expand in the very near future. Moreover, this whole section is about to undergo a major revision. The flies you see here are all in the process of being retied and photographed and many new flies will be added, including the popular Kinney's Reversed Spider mentioned in A Letter from Preston Singletary. The haggard examples you see here were old flies that were scanned before the advent of the modern digital camera. If you are you are really serious about tying flies and fishing for these excellent game fish, I suggest that you do some more research. There is an excellent book by Les Johnson, called Fly-Fishing Coastal Cutthroat, Flies, Techniques, Conservation which is chock-full of Sea-Run Cutthroat patterns and advice. I highly recommend it as a reference.
