This is a straight-forward scout and report quest. In Death Gulch, you meet Mazreth in the tavern. He tells you of a caravan that was lost around the vicinity of the Dungeon of Fire.

Explore the Dungeon of Fire, and right at the beginning of the fifth level, you will find the remains of the caravan. It seems it was indeed ambushed and dragged into that firey hell-hole.

Just finding the caravan is enough to return to Mazreth for a small reward.
