Elena Gilbert-She’s the prima donna of the Vampire Diaries. I would like to emphasize PRIMA DONNA. She wants Stefan really bad, but wants his brother bad too. She uses her friends and dumps a perfectly nice and sweet guy. She has a major head case on herself to boot! Yet she is our heroine and she does save the day. I will give her that.
Stefan Salvatore-He’s the hero of our story, the co-star, if you will. He’s basically a nice guy . In a way, he’s completely opposite of his ladylove, Elena. Stefan hates himself. He’s in dire need of prozac and counceling. You’d think that after 500 years he would have at least accepted who he was. But I do think he genuinely loves Elena. Did I forget to mention that he’s a vampire?
Damon Salvatore-Well, speaking of blood sucking leaches, here's a good one for ya. Damon is Stefan's older, yet shorter, brother. He's basically the sex-crazed hottie of the story. What's a story without one? Anyway, like all true hotties, he's a huge jerk ready to screw people over at any time. He wants Elena bad, and he wants to kill his brother even more!
Meredith Sulez-She's Elena best friend. She's the cool and collected one who never cries. In my humble opinion, she was entirely too mature for a senior in high school. I could believe 30, minimum. She's the only one in the book who could actually resist Damon's "charms". I actually liked Meredith a lot. She was a cool chick. She kept it cool when she got her leg blown to pieces.
Bonnie McCullough-She's Elena's other best friend and the star of Dark Reunion. Bonnie has special "Powers". She's basically your run of the mill psychic. She's also a cute little ditz. I also liked Bonnie a lot. I would probably get along with her the best. Well, she does fall under Damon's "charms" a bit. But, oddly enough, he falls for her in his own special way. Bonnie is the most brave of them all and she ultimately saves the day.
Matt Honeycutt-He's the perfectly nice and sweet guy Elena dumps in the beginning of the books. I think he erally loved Elena too. He does so many nice things for her, even lets her drink his blood after she changes. He's poor too, which gives him character. It's in his car that Elena dies (the first time…the first of many times). I think, at the end he may have liked Bonnie. She liked him too. Lucky for Matt, Damon left the scene.
Tyler Smallwood- All I have to say is "Woof, Woof" Katherine- She's the baddie of The Fury. She's Stefan and Damon's old love from the 15th century. She turned them both into vampires and then pretended to be dead. She also happens to be the spitting image of Elena (or is Elena the spitting image of her?) AND she's a complete psycho. You know, looks aren't the only thing passed down through the gene pool.
Mrs. Flowers- She's Stefan's really weird land lady. She seems to know everything about him too. I never could figure out what was her deal, and neither could any of my LJ peeps. We just don't know. She was a mystery. I would love Ms. Smith, herself, to explain Mrs. Flowers to me.
There are a few other characters worth mentioning, but I will have to get them down later. If anyone feels that I should mention another character…just e-mail me. Or better yet, write me a short little blurb on the character. If I like it I will put it on this page and give you credit for it. That would help me a lot too!
