The Union Pacific Railroad bridge across the Columbia River from Burbank to the industrial area east of Kennewick is located a short distance downstream from the mouth of the Snake River. This bridge was probably modified in the early 1950s just before the construction of McNary Dam created Lake Umatilla, raising the level of the Columbia River ustream from the dam to the Tri-Cities.
This photograph was taken in February 2003 with Burbank in the foreground. I've since taken a better photograph from the Kennewick side of the Columbia and will post the photo eventually.
