BNSF Bridge Pasco-Burbank

The BNSF Bridge across the Snake River between Pasco and Burbank is just upstream from the mouth of the Snake. This bridge was proabably modified in the early 1950s when McNary Dam was built, creating Lake Umatilla and raising the water level in the Columbia River and the mouths of some of its tributaries including the Snake. Note the windmills on the ridge in the background. Also note the pusher type tugboat passing beneath the open drawspan.

The photo was taken in February 2003.
