Paul Hart began performing and doing dance exhibitions at 15, and as a teenager taught social dancing steps and formation dancing. Paul studied several different types of dance in addition to Ballroom and Latin including exhibition swing, square dancing, jazz and tap dancing, and folk dancing. In college he danced with Carolyn Darrough, as one of the original members of "The Moving Company," the modern dance troupe at Bellevue Community College. After two years in Europe, Paul returned to the United States to study at Brigham Young University, where he earned a B.A. Degree in Physical Education, and the first Master of Arts Degree in Ballroom Dance. At BYU, Paul danced with the World Champion Latin Formation Team, and competed in individual and team competitions throughout the Western United States and Canada.

Paul has worked extensively with both adult and youth students in ballroom, latin and social (popular) dance classes. He taught beginning and intermediate level dance classes at Brigham Young University and was instrumental in developing that school’s curriculum for advanced level social dance classes. As a post-graduate student he directed and did choreography for the BYU American Ballroom Tour Team. He has also taught at the University of Utah, and Walla Walla Community College.

Cherie Ponder is not only an accomplished ballroom dancer but she is also a great teacher of dance. As a member of the Brigham Young University International Ballroom Dance team she received extensive training in international style ballroom and latin dancing. Cherie has toured Europe, Canada and the United States competing and performing. She participated in the International Ballroom Dance Championship in Blackpool, England where her team placed third. She and her partner won first place in the Western United State Dance Championships held in Los Angeles.

A graduate in education from BYU, Cherie has taught numerous college level classes including latin and social dances. Over the years she has used her talents to teach many adult and youth groups the joys of social dance. Most recently, she has directed a large youth group in performing for a dance festival in Federal Way, has taught children in a local elementary school and has taught dance and personal development at a women’s youth conference in Hawaii.

A wife and mother of four, she works as a young women’s leader in her church, a professional fashion model and continues to teach in adult and youth conferences throughout the United States.
