Sea Fairy
Polixenes, Water Guardian
I am a little fairy,
Although I have no wings.
I have a little fairy voice,
Though the ways of the wind I can’t sing.
My skin’s as smooth as seashells.
My hair is long and fair.
Some think I have no feelings,
Though for everything I care.
My tail is that of a fish,
Which some find gruesome yet,
Although for money or something else,
People try to make me their pet.
That’s right, I am a mermaid,
The way of the seas are mine.
Dry land is not where I belong,
So offers I must decline.
I am a little sea fairy,
As happy as can be,
I wish not to be a human,
As I frolic about the sea.
I swim and play with the dolphins,
As we jump about the waves.
Although I’m mystical, many say,
For the rest of your life, this way paves.
So I am a little sea fairy,
As happy as can be,
I wish to stay as I am today,
As I frolic about the sea.
