SAJEEWA WITHANAGE - A BELOVED NEPHEW AND A WORTHY SUCCESSOR

I can always speak with pride about my nephew (i.e. my brother's son), Sajeewa, who at present is the Managing Director of the business establishment, STUDIO WITHANAGE, which was set up by my late father some 50 years ago. I feel it is not out of context to mention here that it was my late father, H.M. Withanage, who wrote the first ever book in Sinhalese on PHOTOGRAPHY. To date 'Photography in Sinhalese' written and published by my father is the only book available in Sinhalese on the subject. 

Sajeewa, as a young man took the reins of this photographic business into his hands some five years ago and has not looked back since then. His education at Richmond College, Galle, gave him the discipline and the training required to turn his grandfather's enterprise into a resounding success. The name 'Withanage Studio' or 'Studio Withanage' is well known throughout the island, not to mention the fact that 'Studio Withanage' is a household word in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.

My nephew Sajeewa has been instrumental in bringing innovation and new vision to the business, with the result that he whilst concentrating on the core photographic work, is also looking for opportunities to expand his business interest in other directions as well.
