Onward to You Were Never Mine

It hasn't been so long now,
Since I was one of them,
Imagining a future
That resembled then
Much more than now,

Believing in those little things,
That die as we uncover them,
Exposing them to science,
Trading magic for chemistry,
Losing faith along the way,

It hasn't been so long now,
Since I was one of them,
When I still had time to recover,
Free to all the world,
When all that I could see was true,

The forest held lifes greatest secrets,
And the bikers living in the field,
Were really just nice people,

Bursting through the violet patches,
Heart rasping from the pollen,
Beholding in open wonderment
The untouched beauty of everyone,

And it hasn't been too long now,
Since I was one of them.
