Let the storm convey my message...

Onward to Falling High

Just thought I'd drop a line
To find out how things are with you,
I wonder how the weather is
And what you did today,

It's been raining here for days on end,
As though the sky might never stop,
A wound of cloud upon her,
A scar that hasn't healed,

The oil streaks look lovely,
Like rainbows on the parking lot,
Emerging from the asphalt,
To remind me of the brighter days,

Taller than grass in half the time,
Weeds are shooting up,
As though in search of something-
Perhaps they miss you, too,

Well, let the storm convey my message,
As I'm not sure I can reach you,
Let it soothe you as the rhythm
Of a pitter-patter on the roof,

With thoughts of you in every drop,
To speak across the miles.
