Information about and from "The Pack," the sixth episode from the first season.

Episode Summary:
A trip to the zoo changes Xander...he's more confident, more self-assured...and he's suddenly got a taste for red meat. Raw. He and a few other students are posessed by hyenas. Can Buffy, Willow and Giles stop them before their predatory instincts take over?
Review:
This could easily have been a cheesy episode, but it was actually very good. We get to see a little variety in Nicholas Brendan's acting ability, and get a little more insight into Xander. The obvious parallel between the "hyena" group and bullies at school is taken lightly when Giles tells Buffy that Xander is turning into a sixteen year old boy, and she'll have to kill him. Instead of the writer's trying to teach us a lesson, they're letting us in on the joke. This small thing makes the difference between a very bad show and a fun and interesting one.
