BACKLASH RESULTS 4/30/00


Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler get into their monologues and then starts Jeff Jarrett's old music and subsequently Debra accompanied by The Puppies new music. She comes out to a mediocre ovation and introduces Tori, X-Pac, and The Road Dogg to the ring. The Road Dogg gets on the stick and does his usually routine, then hands it over to Debra as she introduces the Tag Team Champs, Edge and Christian!

Edge/Christian Vs. DX(for Tag Titles)

Edge and Christian easily take helm of this match when Edge starts out with Road Dogg. After going back and forth, Edge takes over and knocks Road Dogg out of the ring. X-Pac and Road Dogg regroup and then exchange tags as do Edge and Christian. Christian is in control until a double team on the outside and then X-Pac takes helm of the match. Road Dogg then comes as X-Pac distracts the ref. A tag is made, blind of course, and Edge disputes trying to reason with the ref to get in as Road Dogg and X-Pac double team Christian. After a BroncoBuster, X-Pac exits the ring and Road Dogg then takes control when he puts Christian in a headlock. Christian comes back, but is stopped by a hard right hand of one Road Dogg. After the right, he is hit with the very overused "Shake, Rattle, and Knee Drop". X-Pac comes in and interferes. He is tied up with the ref when Edge goes up on the top and hits a Swan Dive off the top onto Road Dogg. Finally after a long time in, Christian makes a tag and automatically things change. Christian gets thrown to the outside, after that Road Dogg goes on the outside to stop Christian from hitting Tori. The ref comes down the intervene and Christian reenters the ring, with the ring bell and nails X-Pac. Edge tangles up Road Dogg as Christian covers and gets the three easily on a knocked out X-Pac!

Winners: Edge and Christian

Scotty Too Hotty Vs. Dean Malenko(For Light-Heavyweight Title)

Dean Malenko and Scotty Too Hotty start off the match at an even pace until Dean nails Scotty with a huge clothesline and takes the advantage. Malenko, then in control, gets cocky and Scotty takes a boisterous lead. After a while, Dean starts to work on Scotty's leg and finally masters Scotty's week spot. Dean continues to focus on the leg when the first pin attempt is accumulated. After Malenko is caught using the ropes, he taunts the crowd and then begins to again attack on Scotty's leg. Malenko taunts the very funky dance Scotty Too Hotty performs and then again in a repetitive agenda attacks the leg of Scotty. Scotty comes back with a surprise roll up, but Malenko then comes back with a clothesline. Both men are brought to the outside and Scotty takes control until he makes the mistake of going to the top. From there, Malenko scored with a huge superplex. Malenko took too much time and Scotty got off a DDT and then the worm. Malenko comes back with a roll up is about to get three when the ref catches him with his feet on the ropes. After numerous near falls, both men went to the top and finally Dean got a top rope DDT off and got the win.

Winner: Dean Malenko

Acolytes Vs. Bull Buchchan/Big Bossman

Faarooq and Bull Buchannon start it off in this match featuring four of the toughest guys in wrestling today. Bossman quickly comes back in and takes control until tagging out to a somewhat rested Bull. Bull then tags back out to Bossman and then Bossman back to Bull with quick tags making the match more exciting. Faarooq then tags out for the second time to Bradshaw with the referee not looking. Finally after getting beat up even more, Faarooq tags to Bradshaw and Bradshaw comes in and takes control. Bradshaw then takes on Bull in the ring until Bossman comes, hits Bradshaw with a night stick, Bull comes off the top and we have our winners in Bull and Bossman after Bull pins Bradshaw.

Winners:Bossman & Bull Buchannon

Hardcore Holly Vs. Crash Holly Vs. Jeff Hardy Vs. Matt Hardy Vs. Tazz Vs. Perry Saturn(For Hardcore Title)

The match starts with all six men going on the superstructure in the Backlash entranceway. After Matt jumps off of it, Saturn powerbombs crash through one. They all make there way back to the ring after that amazing segment. It's hard to keep up with all of the action as men are attacking some men and then getting attack and we have no real clear cut leader. Crash is getting the absolute crap kicked out of him by all of his five opponents, as he is the one everyone has to pin. Tazz finally routes a comeback on Saturn, but it is short lived as Jeff Hardy wraps an extension cord around the throat of Crash Holly. Crash is continuing to get the crap kicked out of him, this time especially by his cousin, Bob. The ring clears and Bob brings in a chair. He slams Crash onto the chair as The Hardy Boyz bring in a ladder. Jeff gets the Senton Bomb off from the top of the ladder onto Crash, Matt goes over to cover, Jeff would have none of that and both were thrown to the outside of the ring by Tazz. Tazz puts his submission move on until Saturn comes in, hits him and all men are now on the outside. Crash puts his hand over Tazz and wins the match.

Winner: Crash Holly

Kurt Angle Vs. Big Show

Kurt Angle comes down and talks some smack to the crowd of Washington as Hulk Hogan's past music begins. The Showster comes out, does an impersonation, and the match begins. The big foot and leg drop were unsuccessful, so Angle takes control, Angle then pisses off the show and The Showster turns into The Big Show and he snaps, chokeslams angle and wins the match.

Winner: The Big Show

The Dudleys Vs. T & A

The match starts out quickly as automatically, Buh Buh goes after Trish. It was all a set up as Test comes from another side and clotheslines Buh Buh. We go back into the ring where D'Von is beating up Prince Albert. After a while, D'Von tags out and Buh Buh continues what D'Von started. D'Von gets tagged back in, but is manhandled by Albert. After that, Albert tags in Test, Test takes control of D'Von and tags out at the same time Buh Buh gets tagged in. Buh Buh tags out when he takes control of Albert and D'Von immediately is beaten up. The Dudley Boyz hit the 3-D but Test kicks up. Test then misses an elbow. D'Von throws Albert out of the ring, they are going for 3-D when Trish distracts Buh Buh. Test then hits Buh Buh, and pins him. Later Buh Buh put Trish through the table and lets go half way. She is taken away in a stretcher as The Dudleys succeed.

Winner: T & A

Eddy Guerrero Vs. Essa Rios(for European Title)

Guerrero takes control of this match quickly and brings it to the outside quickly. Guerrero then firmly in control cross body's Essa Rios on the outside of the ring and again takes control of him. Essa takes control quickly on the outside and does make sure that the countout would not occur as he goes in and out. Guerrero goes to the top after a crotch hit, and superplexs Essa off the top rope. Guerrero after unsuccessful pins gets Essa with the pin finally after an airplane spin. A great matchup as Guerrero wins! After the match Lita strips Chyna of her evening gown.

Winner: Eddie Guerrero


Chris Jericho Vs. Chris Benoit(For IC Title)

Jericho and Benoit went head to head as they did what they promised and beat the hell out of each other. Jericho came out on top for the first part, but was caught in the many varieties of a Benoit suplex after his control ended. Benoit still battling with full control throws Jericho from mid ring to the outside and then when he jerked back he nailed a snap suplex. Benoit and Jericho then battled back quickly again. They both were on the ground until Benoit made it up first and started laying in the chops. Jericho comes out of no where with a spinning heel kick. Jericho then goes for the cover, gets a two count. Jericho then in full control goes for a springboard drop kick off the top, Benoit swats it away. Jericho then brings Benoit on the top. Benoit counted on top and Benoit lands all of his weight onto Jericho's as they land. Jericho easily gets off two powerbombs. He goes for the cover gets a two and then Benoit reverses it into a Crippler Crossface. Jericho gets to the ropes. After many reversals, Jericho gets "The Walls Of Jericho" on him. Benoit reaches and is able to get the ropes. Benoit, with the ref down, nails Jericho in the face with the Intercontinental Title. Benoit revives the ref, goes for a pin and only gets two! Benoit then goes up top after a snap suplex and misses Jericho. The bell then randomly rings and they say Benoit is the winner and still champion. Jericho then put The Walls Of Jericho on Tim White, the referee.

The Rock Vs. HHH(For WWF Title)

In a highly anticipated match, Triple H walks out to the ring. Vince and Shane McMahon follow. Vince announces that as it says in the program, "Card is Subject to change." He is referring to Stone Cold Steve Austin's involvement in the match. The Rock's music hits as he comes out to a huge ovation. Both men enter into a huge steering contest before each go head to head. Triple H takes the early advantage by cornering Rock. The Rock makes a comeback but is short lived by being tossed out of the ring. The action persists outside of the ring with the Rock going face first into the announce table. Hunter crawls back into the ring while Vince interferes tossing The Rock into a ring post. The action once again continues in the ring. As the action continues inside, some excellent athleticism is displayed. The Rock and Triple H go back to back in pinning each other. Shane's 3 counts seem faster every pin. Hunter captures The Rock in a sleeper hold short after. Triple H then goes for the cover, but fails. Vince yells at Shane to count faster. Rock gains the advantage of the match again, but its shortlived due to a blow to the head from Vince McMahon w/ the belt. As the action continues outside, Triple H tosses The Rock into the ring steps. Triple H then brings The Rock over to the broken announcing table. Triple H takes The Rock on top of the table, sets up for The Pedigree, but fails with a low blow from the Rock. The Rock then sets up for the Rock Bottom, but is stopped by Shane. Double Rock Bottom decimating the table! The Rock carries Hunter back to the ring, but only to be taunted by Vince. The Rock attacks Vince, but the attack does not last long as a low blow from Hunter is delivered to the Rock. Hunter hits the Pedigree. Vince calls for more refs. Brico and Patterson run down to the ring. 1...2..No! Patterson and Brisco then begin attacking the Rock! A three on one situation against the Rock. Patterson and Brisco hold the helpless Rock as Triple H delivers powerful blows. Vince then grabs a chair which is met with the Rock's forehead. Full Control belongs to Hunter/McMahon. The Rock cannot even get up. STONE COLD'S MUSIC HITS! The Rattlesnake is met by Triple H in the aisle. Stone Cold decimates his way down to the ring with a chair. Shane, Vince, Patterson, Brisco, they all are met with a chair! Austin hits everyone but The Rock (6 people), and leaves the ring. Now Linda McMahon and Earl Hebner walk towards the ring. Linda knocks down Stephanie on her way down. The Rock hits Triple H with a flying buster. The People's Elbow is hit! Earl jumps in, 1...2...3!
