WCW Great American Bash-- 6/11/00
Match #1- Lieutenant Loco vs. Disco Inferno, Cruiserweight Title.
This year's Great American Bash opened with clips of WCW Monday Nitro 13 days ago when Goldberg made his WCW return. They also showed clips of Goldberg showing up at Nitro this past Monday and Thunder this past Wednesday.
They showed police waiting for Goldberg, should he choose to show up tonight.
All of the Misfits in Action made their way to the ring and Captain Rection and told Loco that his mission was to defend the title against Disco Inferno tonight. Loco then pulled out a fake hand grenade and told Disco he'd kill him.
Disco dropped Loco throat first on the top rope and then sent him into the corner and kicked him. Loco executed a head scissors, sending Disco to the outside. The MIA beat up on Disco and setn him back in, where he took a suplex and near fall from Loco. Loco suplexed Disco again and got another 2-count. Disco charged at Loco, Loco ducked and Disco flew over the top rope to the floor. Loco then nailed Disco with a cross body.
Back in the ring, Disco bodyslammed Loco and nailed him with a double ax handle off the ropes. Caption Rection's grandfather made his way to the ring and hit on Tygress. Konnan then knocked him out. Juventud Guerrera attacked Loco, allowing Disco to hit the Last Dance. Corporal Cajun gave Disco a Russian leg sweep and Loco pinned Disco. After the match, Major Gunz ripped her shirt off and gave the old man mouth-to-mouth. He started to get up, but went back down and tried to grope Gunz.
Winner: Lieutenant Loco.
Match #2- The Mamalukes vs. Kronic.
This match was for number one contendership to the WCW World Tag Team Titles.
Brian Clark gave Johnny The Bull repeated chops in the corner. Johnny tried to come back, but Clark chokeslammed and clotheslined him. Johnny rolled to the outside. Clark gave him a Russian leg sweep into the guard rail. Back in the ring, Johnny kicked Clark down and he and Vito double-teamed Clark. Brian Adams came in and took control on Johnny with a Full Nelson Slam.
Clark came back in and gave Johnny a British Bulldog-like powerslam. Adams came back in and Johnny took him down with a clothesline. Johnny went for a suplex and Adams picked him up over his head and dropped him down with a gut buster. Johnny got back up and DDTed Adams. Johnny tagged Big Vito and Vito sent Adams down hard. Vito sent Adams into the corner and nailed him hard. He tried that again, but Adams moved and tagged Clark.
Clark and Adams double back body dropped Vito. Adams dropped Vito right on his head. Vito got back up and nailed Adams with a Mafia Kick. Vito went over to the announce table and showed no concern for his partner. Kronic gave Johnny the High Time and took the match and the number one contender's spot to the tag titles.
Winners: Kronic.
Pamela interviewed Diamond Dallas Page about his match with Mike Awesome. Page called her a bimbo and she seemed to like it. Page said he had something special for Awesome
Match #3- Diamond Dallas Page vs. Mike Awesome, Ambulance Match
Page wheeled Kanyon into the arena to watch the match.
Page and Awesome went right at each other and knocked the referee down. They swung chairs at each other and Page threw one at Awesome. Awesome took Page down with an elbow and then a belly-to-back suplex. Awesome then gave Page the Awesome Splash. Awesome raked Page's face across the top rope and took him down with an Awesome Clothesline. He then dropped Page throat first across the top rope and set up a table on the outside. He gave Page the Awesome Bomb through the table.
Awesome called for the stretcher to take Page back to the ambulance, but Page rolled off and Awesome brought him back to the ring. Awesome then beat on Page with a chair and gave him top rope Awesome Splashes from both sides of the ring. He then put a chair under Page and a chair on top of Page. He went for another Awesome Splash and Page rolled over, causing Awesome to hit the chairs. Kimberly came out and hit Page with a pipe. Miss Hancock grabbed Kimberly's hair brought her to the back.
Awesome tried to Awesome Bomb Page from the top, but Page gave him a low blow and a Diamond Cutter from the top. Awesome was put on the stretcher on carried toward ambulance. Eric Bischoff came out with a chair and was about to hit Kanyon with it. Kanyon got up and gave Page a Diamond Cutter through the stage. Kanyon took his shirt off to reveal a New Blood shirt. He then put Page in the ambulance, giving Awesome the win.
Winner: Mike Awesome.
Match #4 - G.I. Bro vs. "Perfect" Shawn Stasiak, Boot Camp Match
Stasiak stomped on Bro early, but Bro came back and slammed him down hard. Bro sent Stasiak to the outside and sent him into the guard rail. He then sent Stasiak over the guard rail and into the crowd. Stasiak hit Bro in the back a few times, but Bro came back by sending Stasiak's face into the guard rail. Bro sent Stasiak back over the rail and hit him with a chair.
Bro sent Stasiak back in and gave him right hands in the corner. Bro charged and Stasiak, but Stasiak elevated him into the top turnbuckle. Stasiak took Bro down and he stayed down for an 8-count. Bro gave Stasiak a spin kick and Stasiak sent Bro to the outside. Stasiak sent Bro into the guard rail a couple times and drove an elbow in the back of his head. Stasiak suplexed Bro into the entrance ramp, which was a steel grate.
When they got back in the ring, Stasiak nailed Bro with a clothesline off the top and the referee made a 9-count. Stasiak went for a suplex, but Bro reversed and suplexed Stasiak. Stasiak got right back up and clotheslined Bro. Stasiak sent Bro back to the outside and sent him into the guard rail and into the crowd again. Stasiak sent Bro back toward the ring again and hit him with a chair. Stasiak beat on Bro with right hands and sent him back in the ring.
Stasiak gave Bro a gut wrench powerbomb and Bro got up just before the count of ten. Stasiak put Bro in a sleeper hold as the fans chanted "Boring! Boring! Boring!" Bro got up and gave Stasiak a Samoan drop. Bro gave Stasiak the Harlem Sidekick and his version of the Rock Bottom. Stasiak got up and Bro gave him the missile dropkick. Chuck Palumbo came in tried to hit Bro with the Lex Flexer, but Bro gave him the Ax Kick. Stasiak hit Bro in the balls with the Lex Flexer. Palumbo and Stasiak then beat on Bro with fists and the Lex Flexer. Bro took both men down with a double-clothesline and Harlem Sidekicks. Bro took Palumbo out with the Lex Flexer and knocked Stasiak out with it for the win.
Winner: G.I. Bro.
Match #5 - The Wall vs. The Franchise (Tables Match)
Kanyon was interviewed by Kanyon, and Kanyon said that nobody visited him in the hospital more than Eric Bischoff. They showed footage of Page getting out of the ambulance and of the Goldberg monster truck pulling up.
Douglas got on the mic and called the fans "Baltimore pieces of sh*t." Douglas said that in order to win the match, one of the participants would have to put his opponent through five tables.
The Wall took control early, gorilla press slamming Douglas and punching him in the corner. Douglas sent The Wall down with a Triple H-like knee lift. The Wall tried to double-choke Douglas, but Douglas gave him a front suplex. Douglas then gave The Wall a rolling reverse neck breaker, snapping The Wall's head and neck back.
Douglas sent The Wall to the outside and tried to suplex him through the table, but The Wall stopped him and chokeslammed him through the table. The Wall sent Douglas into the guard rail and through another table moments later. They got back in the ring and Douglas gave The Wall a low blow. Douglas walked away from the ring and toward a very high ladder next to three stacked up tables.
Both men were on top of the ladder and The Wall tried to chokeslam Douglas, but Douglas hit him with brass knuckles, knocking The Wall off the ladder and through three tables. The Wall got up and chokeslammed the referee through a table.
Winner: Shane Douglas.
Match #6 - Tank Abbott vs. Scott Steiner (Asylum Match)
Hollywood Hogan pulled up to the building with his feathered boa on.
As the match started, ring announcer David Penzer announced that since the Asylum Cage Match Scott Steiner's signature match, Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo decided that it would only be fair to add Rick Steiner to the match and make it Abbot and Rick Steiner vs. Scott Steiner.
Scott had control of Abbot until Rick entered the match. Abbot and Rick took total control of Scott and Rick gave Scott an elbow to the balls of his brother. Abbot took the glove off his hand and put a chain on it. Rick said no chain, so Tank took it off. He then put the chain back on his hand and tried to hit Scott, but Rick pushed Scott out of the way and took the shot for him. Scott put Tank in the Steiner Recliner and got the win.
Winner: Scott Steiner.
Match #7 - Hulk Hogan vs. Billy Kidman
Remember, if Hogan wins, he gets a World Title shot at Bash at the Beach. However, if he loses, he must retire from wrestling. Also, Horace Hogan is the referee for this match.
Hogan and Kidman locked up in the middle of the ring and Kidman threw Kidman down a few times and nailed him with right hands. Hogan sent Kidman to the outside with a big right hand and sent him back in the ring. Hogan kicked Kidman in the midsection and gave him some more right hands. Hogan then took Kidman down with The Big Boot.
Kidman rolled to the outside and Hogan sent him into the guard rail twice. He continued to nail Kidman with right hands and sent him back in the ring again. Hogan choked Kidman in the middle of the ring and Horace made him break it up. Kidman raked Hogan's eyes and kicked him in the corner. Kidman choked Hogan in the corner and Horace made him break it up. Hogan gave Kidman a low blow.
Hogan took off the weight belt and hit Kidman with it repeatedly. Kidman went back to the outside and Hogan picked up a chair. Kidman dropkicked the chair into Hogan and hit him with it repeatedly. Kidman rolled Hogan back in and tried to pin him, but Hogan kicked out at the count of two. Hogan rolled to the outside and pulled Kidman out there with him. Hogan hit Kidman with the chair and sent him back in the ring. Hogan tried to bodyslam Kidman on the chair, but Kidman countered and DDTed Hogan on the chair. Kidman tried to pin Hogan, but couldn't. Kidman came off the top with a splash and still couldn't pin Hogan.
Kidman became upset with Horace for calling the match down the middle. Kidman hit Hogan in the back with forearms, but Hogan "Hulked up" and hit Kidman with right hands in the corner, followed by a clothesline in the corner. Kidman went back to the outside and Hogan tried to sent him into the ring post, but Kidman sent Hogan into it. Kidman charged Hogan and Hogan hip tossed him into the announce table as Torrie made her way to the ring.
Torrie stood on the ring apron and handed Hogan brass knucks. Kidman nailed Hogan from behind, knocking Torrie off the apron. Kidman hit Hogan with the knucks but still couldn't pin him. Kidman hit Horace with the knucks. Torrie low blowed Kidman and Hogan hit Kidman with the knucks. He made the cover and nephew Horace made the count. After the match, Hogan and Horace shook hands and hugged.
Winner: Hollywood Hogan.
Match #8 - Ric Flair vs. David Flair
A cop asked Bischoff is everything was all right, and Bischoff basically said no.
Pamela told David Flair that he would need good luck to end his father's career tonight. David and Vince Russo insulted her.
Okerlund interviewed Ric Flair and Flair congratulated Hogan.
Ric's family made their way to the ring and sat ringside for the match. David made his way to the ring with Russo. Ric took his robe off and looked fatter than ever.
Ric seemed to have control early, but David put him in the corner and chopped him. David sent Ric to the outside and chopped and punched him. He sent Ric into the guard rail and back in the ring. David suplexed Ric and put him in the sleeper. Ric countered and side suplexed David. Ric ripped David's shirt off and chopped his chest. Ric kicked David in the chest and chopped him to the mat.
Flair continued to chop and punch David in and out of the ring. David came back by clotheslining Ric over the top rope to the floor, where Russo hit him with a bat and handcuffed him. David chopped Ric down and put him in the Figure Four Leg Lock. Russo pulled on David's arms to add leverage to the hold. David grabbed the ropes as well for more leverage.
Ric escaped and David punched him repeatedly. Russo tried to get involved, but Reid Flair stopped him. Russo pushed Reid down, but Reid hit him low and took the handcuff key. David abused Reid, but while he was doing that, referee Charles Robinson unlocked Ric. Ric's daughter Ashley handcuffed Russo and Ric took total control. Ric gave David a vertical suplex. David poked Ric in the eyes and went to the top. Ric threw David off the top, much the way Ric has been thrown in the past.
Ric worked on David's leg and put him in the Figure Four for the win. Ric ripped Russo's shirt off and chopped him. Ric celebrated with his family and walked away. Russo then said "Hold it right there you piece of shit!" He said that Ric, his bitch son, and his bitch daughter have chopped Vince Russo for the last time. Russo said that he would retire Flair's ass tomorrow on Nitro.
Winner: Ric Flair.
Match #9 - Sting vs. Vampiro (Human Torch Match)
Sting had the blow torch and was on top of the big screen. He said that Vampiro would have to climb up to beat him. The match started in the ring, with the torch at the top of the big screen.
Sting took control early with a clothesline. He went for the Stinger Splash, but Vampiro kicked him in the face. Sting sent Vampiro into the other corner, went for another Stinger Splash, but Vampiro moved and poured gasoline all over Sting. Sting hit Vampiro low and sent him into the metal structure holding up the big screen.
They began climbing the scaffolding, and Vampiro threw Sting off from about ten feet and landed on the stage. Both men climbed up to the very top and Sting's thunder and lightning effects started as the lights dimmed. They fought on top of the screen and Vampiro tried to get the torch, but Sting stopped him. Vampiro suplexed Sting and grabbed the torch. Vampiro lit Sting on fire and Sting jumped off the screen and landed on the padded stage. Security put the fire out as Sting appeared to be dying.
Winner: Vampiro.
Match #10 - Jeff Jarrett vs. Kevin Nash (World Title Match)
Pamela tried to interview Bischoff about the big surprise. He was nervous about what was going on and said there would be no surprise.
Prior to the start of the match, The Cat came out and announced Konnan as the bell ringer, Rey Mysterio as the time keeper, Disco Inferno as the special belt keeper, Juventud Guerrero as the special ring announcer, and the himself as the special ring enforcer and referee.
Nash and Jarrett locked up in the middle of the ring and Nash shoved Jarrett into the corner. Jarrett's friends jumped up on the ring apron, distracting Nash and allowing Jarrett to take control of the match with right hands. Nash drilled Jarrett with knee lifts and threw him across the ring. Nash then put Jarrett in the corner and gave him more knees and elbows. There was some type of eruption in the arena, causing everyone to stop what they were doing for the a moment.
They went to the ouside and Jarrett sent Nash into the ring post. Nash sent Jarrett into the guard rail and dropped him face first on the announce table. Nash and Jarrett went into the crowd as Nash beat on Jarrett. Nash hit Jarrett with a chair and brought him back toward the ring. Mysterio hit Nash in the knee with a chair a couple times and Jarrett brought the chair into the ring. Jarrett hit Nash in the knee with the chair, but the referee eventually took it from him.
Jarrett continued to work on Nash's leg, dropping his ass on it and going for the Figure Four. Nash wouldn't let him put the Figure Four on, but Jarrett did apply a half crab. Jarrett eventually locked on the Figure Four and continued to crank on the leg. Nash tried to turn the hold over, but couldn't do it. Nash eventually reached the ropes and the hold was broken. Jarrett distracted the ref as Konnan hit Nash with the belt. Jarrett pinned Nash for a 2-count.
Nash sidewalk slammed Jarrett. The other guys got involved and Nash took them out. Jarrett tried to hit Nash with the belt, but Nash ducked and hit Jarrett with the belt. Nash went for the pin, but Disco knocked out the ref and took the belt. Juventud hit Nash with the chair. The Cat became the ref and Jarrett tried to pin Nash but couldn't. Everyone else got involved, but Nash got rid of them. Jarrett hit The Stroke, Nash kicked out. Nash chokeslammed Jarrett and tried to pin him, but The Cat wouldn't count to three. Nash powerbombed The Cat and then powerbombed Jarrett. Charles Robinson tried to make the count but Rick Steiner pulled him out. A bunch of guys attacked Nash. Scott Steiner tried to help but couldn't do much. The Goldberg monster truck pulled into the arena and Goldberg entered the ring. He speared Nash and Jarrett pinned him. Bischoff and Russo got out of the monster truck and made their way to the ring. The crowd chanted "Goldberg sucks!" and Goldberg hugged Bischoff and Russo.
Winner: Jeff Jarrett.
