RDW BACK TO THE BACKYARD 6/29/02

Spades & Enmity promo
Spades & Enmity kick off "Back to the Backyard" with showing a bit of hatred from the last week's edition of Rampage! Enmity came out to talk about his opportunity of becoming a free man and becoming the RDW president! Spades comes out and shares a few words of his own and then attacks Enmity when he turns his back on him. Spades leaves Enmity with something to remember him by.

1. Kid Kapre vs. Whoa
Whoa! made his unexpected return to the RDW ring at RDW's "Back to the Backyard" to face off against one of RDW's new comers, Kid Kapre. Whoa still looks as impressive as if he wrestled last week. Showed no signs of ring rust. Kid Kapre at times put up a fight against Whoa but not enough to keep him down. Whoa nailed a sitdown powerbomb for the victory! Look to see more Whoa! action in the next up and coming weeks.
Winner: Whoa

2. RDW Presidency Match: Spades (p) vs. Enmity
With so much up the line, Enmity has everything to lose and a lot to gain. Facing in the ring with his "master" Spades shows that he's ready to step up to the plate and finally make a name for himself. Enmity started off to a slow start in the begining as he was being manhandled by Spades. Enmity starts to grab momentum with hitting Spades with a stop sign to his face! As the match progressed, Enmity seemed more worn down and tired from the punishment he's been receieving from Spades but continued to fight on. When the ref got knocked out of action, Kid Kapre made his way to the ring and attempted to assist Spades with distracting Enmity. But Whoa made his way back not only to take out Kid Kapre but also there to lend Enmity a helping hand. After all the commotion, Enmity was able to land the "McTwist" (Modified twisting 180 splash) for the pinfall! NEW PRESIDENT IN RDW!
Winner: Enmity; New RDW President

Mark Quinn & Icebreaker promo Mark Quinn and Icebreaker come out to the ring. Mark Quinn talks about how he was screwed by the mystery commissioner in facing Icebreaker for the RDW Heavyweight Championship! And instead he faces off against The New Breed's own Thorne! Icebreaker gets on the mic and explains that his match against Byron Bangkok is going to be a tough but in the end "It's not you, it's me!" Who will be on top says Icebreaker. The New Breed make their way out. Thorne starts yelling at Mark Quinn about their match later on. Thorne tells Mark Quinn and Icebreaker to look behind them and they see the challenger for the heavyweight belt, Byron Bangkok! He gets the sneak attack on both Icebreaker and Mark Quinn. The New Breed stablize Quinn with putting a chair on his neck and having Arial sit on it. Icebreaker is still being attacked by The New Breed and then gets to suffer as he watched the Canadian flag burn by Byron Bangkok. Eventually, several RDW superstars make their way out in attempt to save Mark Quinn and Icebreaker. Some of those names being Bobby Blaze, Messiah, Tommy Knight, and Mike Revernant! The New Breed haults the attack by the RDW superstars by taking a fan as hostage! Lucky enough, The RDW superstars grab the fan back and The New Breed leave the ringside area.

3. RDW "That Belt" Championship" That Kid (c) vs. Mercury
Both compeitiors make their way to the ring without any hasstle. Surprisingly enough, That Kid names the stipulation before the match because he feels "confident" and wants to be fair. Uncharacteristic like of That Kid. But maybe we'll get to see something new. The rules of this match was to be labeled as a "Street Fight". Which bought this match to a hardcore element which RDW fans haven't seen for some time now. That Kid was placing his body on the line several times during the match hitting Mercury with a splash off the top though a table and even a suicide plancha from the top. Mercury making the exchange hitting his patenant springboard plancha and even a springboard axe kick from the inside all the way to the outsdie where That Kid left his lifeliess body broken on top of a chair. The match ended with Mercury hitting another axe kick to the back of the head onto That Kid and covered him on the outside.
Winner: Mercury; New RDW Unknown Champion

After the match, Mercury named the belt "The Grand Slam" Championship. Seeing Mercury set a record in RDW by being the first superstar to hold every title RDW has to offer. Mercury left the area flipping the fans.

Enmity Promo
Enmity comes out with the vacanted RDW Tag-Team titles and gets on the mic. He states that The Mystery Commissioner has ordered a "Best of Seven Series" to begin as of today between the former tag team champions The Bad Breed and RDW's up and coming Tommy Knight and Mike Revernant! He drops the mic and the match begins after he leaves

4. RDW "Best of Seven Series" for RDW Tag-Team Championship (Match One) - Bad Breed vs. Tommy Knight & Mike Revernent
Tommy Knight and Mike Revernent make their way to the ring proud and ready to face off against The Bad Breed. Bloodstone's music hits and he runs like there's no tomorrow. Not waitng for his partner Jayson to go into the ring. He gets out powered by Tommy Knight & Mike Revernent. Jayson make his way to the ring and makes the odds even. Bloodstone and Tommy Knight battle on the outside as Jayson and Mike Revernent make their own technical brawl inside the ring. Bloodstone hits a moonsault off the wall and gets back into the ring to assist Jayson with a springboard dropkick across the ring. From there Bloodstone and Jayson begin aguring in the ring which doesn't end there and goes on for the rest of the match. We see signs when Bloodstone tags in Jayson and he goes to hit Bloodstone with a drive by but Bloodstone ducked and hit Tommy Knight insdie the ring. Again when Jayson tags in Bloodstone and Bloodstone attempts to hit him with a cross body but is thrown in the air and instead Bloodstone hit a hurricanranna. The match ends with Bloodstone almost leaving Jayson high and dry but runs back in realizing the importance of the match. Bloodstone goes for a springboard Bloodrop. Gets blocked by Mike Revernent, throws Bloodstone off the ropes and then launches him in the air and Bloodstone nailed a Blood Drop on Jayson instead. Tommy Knight & Mike Revernent get the victory over a counter with the Blood Drop!
Winner: Tommy Knight & Mike Revernent; Take lead 1-0

5. Messiah vs. Bobby Biggins
The two rookies of the year faced off in a match that was incredible. Both men easily weigh over 200lbs. And the way these guys lifted each other was scary. Bobby Biggins was dishing out powerbombs, samoen drops onto Messiah while Messiah at times brouht his feet off the ground and to the top with a huge arounding splash heard around the world. Many close falls between the two and both reversed each others finishers. Messiah attempted the Mercenary and was reversed into a reverse ddt. Bobby Biggind went for the Hangover and got a Mercenary in place of that. 1,2,3 put a fork in him he's done.
Winner: Messiah

After the match, Messiah and Biggins stood in the ring still with a stare down. Messiah exchange a hand and Biggins kindda stood there having everyone think he was going to hit Messiah or something. But he exchanged a hand back and the two shook hands showing great sportsmanship.

6. RDW East Coast Championship Match: Bobby Blaze vs. Adam Impact (c)
This was a match which was being built up for weeks now. Bobby Blaze has been wanting a shot against Adam Impact for quite some time now and finally got his shot. Be careful what you ask for because sometimes you get it, and in the early going I bet that what Bobby Blaze was saying as Adam Impact had the early advantage on Bobby Blaze. Adam Impact showed Bobby Blaze why he is the "Innovator of Extreme" by giving Bobby Blaze a powerbomb into piledriver! Surprisingly, that didn't keep Bobby Blaze down. Several points in the match we see Bobby Blaze go for his Thermal Breakdown. Adam Impact came up with several ways of countering it. It seemed as if Adam Impact was well aware of what he was getting himself into and as much as fans hate him, thats signs of a good champion. Adam Impact got a pinfall by using the ropes and was declared thw winner. But the new RDW President Enmity came down and ordered the match to continue. So it did....bad enough for Bobby Blaze he was on the receiving end of a powerbomb into facebuster off the top rope! Adam Impact again called for the ending when he announced he was going for Sudden Impact. But as he went for it, Bobby Blaze rolled up the East Coast Champ for the 1,2,3! And was crowned the new RDW East Coast Champion!
Winner: Bobby Blaze; new RDW East Coast Champion

7. Terrance Thomas vs. Playboy Pat Masters
You wanna talk about nonstop action? For what Terrance Thomas has been taking from Playboy Pat Masters from the past few weeks, there wasn't a reason to stop. I mean this match wasn't slowing down for anyone. Terrance Thomas dished out a bunch of manuevers such as a split legged moonsault. Both the most part, we've seen a lot of inventive moves on the behalf of Playboy Pat Masters. Smart move by the RDW veteran knowing what Terrance Thomas is capible of, he came out with new moves to surprise a lot of people. Such as a modified rolling sleeper from the top rope which be brought all the way to the floor. Incredible. Also, we saw Terrance Thomas and Playboy Pat Masters hit double dropkicks, followed by a double enzergeier. And when both men got up, They nailed double jaw breakers on each other. The match ended when Terrance Thomas finally found an opportunity to hit Chetti Chetti Chabow. But Playboy punched Terrance Thomas in the face and walked out leaving the ref no choice but to make a countout on Playboy Pat Masters. Leaving Terrance Thomas the winner.

8. Mark Quinn vs. Thorne
Before the match begins, Thorne gets on the mic and talks about seeing it is "Back to the Backyard" he wants to raise the bar and make this a hardcore match. Mark Quinn accepts and starts the match. Bad choice for Mark Quinn as for several points in the match we saw Thorne destroy Mark Quinn with several objects outside the ring. But there was quite a handful of wrestling to be seen to as we noticed that Mark Quinn nailed Thorne's own Fisherman's Neckbreaker on him! And Thorne even hit Mark Quinn with his own Bombs Away! Mark Quinn bought the match to the outside for a while gaining some offense on Thorne but it was quickly turned around on him by Thorne hitting a DDT though a table on the outside. Mark Quinn caught Thorne's leg and nailed a Dragon Screw Legwhip on Thorne. Picked him up again and attempted a second, but Thorne countered with a kick of his own to Mark Quinn head, and that was enough to keep down the Icon.
Winner: Thorne

Main Event: RDW Heavyweight Championship: Icebreaker (c) vs. Bryon Bangkok
This is the main attraction of the night. Byron Bangkok challenges Icebreaker for the RDW Heavyweight title. A lot of contraversey was bought up over who should of fought Icebreaker the week before. But it came down to this. For this first time in the history of RDW, Byron Bangkok faced off against Icebreaker one-on-one! So we were in for a lot here. In the begining, we see that both Icebreaker and Byron Bangkok feeling each other out, countering punched and kicks and a good number of reversals in the beginging. Good wrestling on the part of both men. But also we have to add that these guys were hitting each other so hard in the begining that fans in the audience were scared of both these men. This continues for a good five minutes and then it gets interesting. Icebreaker hits Channel Zero on Byron Bangkok! How insulting to hit your oponents move on him. Then later on in the match, Byron Bangkok returned the favor by hitting a Harsh Reality on Icebreaker. But wait there's more, Icebreaker reversed Dimond Dust on Byron Bangkok and nailed his screwdriver piledriver. Byron Bangkok played smart during the entire match and got right back on offense when he was on the receiving end showing that he can land out as much punishment as he received. When this match gets to the outside, it gets nothing but ugly. One of the things we can mention is that Icebreaker nailed a Dragon Suplex (Full Nelson Suplex) on the outside! Reminder to everyone that we are in a backyard and we wrestle on grass!! When the match was brought back in, Icebreaker called for it to be over by getting the Icepick applied. Byron Bangkok didn't give up, but the move was broken up as Arial came into the ring and nailed Icebreaker with her shoe! From there, Byron Bangkok came out and placed the Icepick on Icebreaker! But when the ref got back up, he was on his ear piece and listening in and then he ordered the match to end....whats going on? He declares the Icebreaker gave up and named Byron Bangkok the new Heavyweight Champion!
Winner: Byron Bangkok; new RDW Heavyweight Champion

After the match, several RDW superstars came into the ring asking what the hell is going on. Including both Icebreaker and Byron Bangkok! No one knew what was going on. But nothing could have been done. Icebreaker left heated and Byron walked out as the new champ. Questions are prayed to be answered on next week's edition of Rampage!
