The following interview is between Indy Pro Central reporter James Hinson and up and coming superstar MDOGG 20...
When did you get started in professional wrestling?
-When I first saw ECW around 1997 I became interested in pro wrestling. I took part in some silly backyard matches which lead to untrained indy matches. I then decided to take professional wrestling seriously so I got trained at the Cleveland All Pro Wrestling Training Center under Jt Lightning. I've now been wrestling professionally for just over 2 years.
Who would you say were your biggest influences?
-Feuds like Rob Van Dam/Jerry Lynn, Masato Tanaka/Mike Awesome, and Super Crazy/Tajiri made me want to pursue wrestling.
What are your thoughts on ROH/HWA?
-I haven't seen much HWA but I'm a big fan of ROH. It seems like the place to be at the moment and hopefully I can work for them at some point in my career. I feel like I have some good friend's there and they get a ton of press so it'd be nice to work there.
Who would you say is your favorite opponent?
-I've enjoyed my matches with Josh Prohibition, Chris Hamrick, and Chris Hero among others
Do you have a favorite match?
-It's hard to narrow it down to even a handful but I'd say some of my favorite matches were my CZW Debut against Josh Prohibition in April of 2002 and my match with Josh Prohibition defending our XPW Tag Team titles against Jardi Frantz and Bobby Quance in Los Angeles back in February of 2003. I'm also very fond of my 4-way match against Aj Styles, Super Dragon, and Matt Stryker at IWA's Ted Petty Invite last year.
What's your biggest accomplishment so far?
-Just being able to compete in some of the best wrestling companies in the world among the world's top wrestlers has been an honor. From being XPW Tag Team Champions, to winning the IWA Mid South Heavyweight Title, to competing in CZW's Best of the Best 2, and IWA's Ted Petty Invitational I've had many memorable nights.
What do you think of the current state of pro. wrestling?
-It's obviously down but I believe the business is cyclical so hopefully it'll pick up soon. The Indy's at the moment are where the action is. When people get sick of the "soap opera for guys" that the WWWWW f'n E puts out hopefully they're turn to Indy action.
