Booker TBOOKER T

Height/Weight: 6' 3"/250 pounds
From: Harlem, N.Y.
Finisher: Harlem Hangover
SCW Highlights: Intercontinental Champion, Tag Team Champion, Television Champion

As one of the most charismatic and gifted athletes Supreme Championship Wrestling had ever seen, Booker T was a force to be reckoned with. The minute he stepped foot in SCW in 1998, he put the tag team division on notice that they were in trouble. Pairing himself up with Dean Malenko to create "Fire & Ice," the two ran wild over the competition. Before long, they earned themselves the opportunity to face Rated R for the SCW Tag Team Championship. In a memorable feud that saw Fire & Ice fighting against the odds, they silenced the doubters and won the titles. To make matters worse for everyone else, Fire & Ice took their belts over to the Perfect Team, quite possibly making the group stronger than anyone could've ever imagined. Booker T had finally done what he originally set out to do -- silence the critics that doubted he could hang with the fierce level of competition in SCW.

Even though he garnered a lot of attention in the tag team scene, he made a name for himself in one-on-one territory as well. Booker won the SCW Television Championship in 1998, holding onto it even when he became a Tag Team Champion with Dean Malenko. Fire & Ice surprisingly disappeared in August of that same year and Booker T lost both of his titles by forfeiture. In February of '99, Booker T returned to SCW and to the Perfect Team, claiming the SCW Intercontinental Championship later that year from Bret Hart in a bitter feud. He would once again drop a title without losing it, this time due to a SCW work stoppage in August of '99. The Perfect Team officially disbanded in August, as well.

In May of 2000, SCW was once again returning from a hiatus. Booker T was back again, as well, but not without purpose. He called for the reformation of the Perfect Team, eventually getting his wish with the combination of Chris Jericho and new leader Chris Benoit. Things seemed fine, until the following month. Booker T was unexpectedly shot in Harlem and had gone missing. When Benoit and long-time tag team partner Dean Malenko both came to find him, the three men found themselves at odds with the Perfect Team. After a couple of months of rehabilitation, Booker T returned with Benoit and Malenko as the "Real Deal" at SCW Road Rage, vying for redemption against the PT. SCW closed its doors immediately afterwards, however, and Road Rage 2000 was Booker T's last appearance in professional wrestling.

Whether his competitors wanted to believe it or not, Booker T was a man that knew how to hold his own in the ring. Winning three of Supreme Championship Wrestling's coveted championships was no easy task. With both unmatched agility and spectacular ability in the wrestling ring, this "hardcore O-G from 110th Street" always made sure his opponents knew it was "ON like NECKBONE" ...

... sucka.
