People with a natural, god-given ability to wrestle are few and far between. Dean Malenko is one of those people. Success didn't quite reach Malenko until he stepped foot into Supreme Championship Wrestling in April of 1998. Booker T wanted to show SCW's Tag Team division what a real tag team looked like and convinced the Iceman to form "Fire & Ice," one of the most gifted tag teams SCW would ever see. Malenko eventually brought a female manager into the fold with Fyre. Booker T and Malenko's clashing styles seemed to give them an advantage over the competition; they would eventually take the SCW Tag Team titles away from the powerful supergroup Rated R, which was backed by James Ace. Soon afterwards, Fire & Ice joined the Perfect Team, helping the PT in their own war with Rated R. In the end, the Perfect Team would come out the victors. Malenko and the Perfect Team had proven that they deserved their name.

Much like Booker T, Dean Malenko was nothing to take lightly in a one-on-one contest. The technician proved to be quite the competitor, eventually getting the opportunity to win the SCW Intercontinental Championship at Road Rage '98. The Ultimate Warrior had, in the PT's eyes, stolen a win at Double Jeopardy one month prior in the infamous Doomsday Cage match that is still talked about today. Malenko atoned for that, defeating the Warrior and bringing the title back home to the Team. Fire & Ice mysteriously left the SCW soon afterwards, forfeiting all of the title belts that they had at the time.

After Fire & Ice's departure in 1998, Dean Malenko appeared to be in retirement from the sport, along with Fyre ... until the horrible news of Booker T's shooting came around in June of 2000. After contacting Chris Benoit about the issue, the two stayed in Harlem until Booker was found and hospitalized. After Benoit left to return to SCW, Malenko stayed behind to aid Booker in his rehab. In August, at SCW Road Rage 2000, Fire & Ice were a team again for the first time in two years, back in SCW and helping Benoit fend off the Perfect Team, who were no longer allies. When SCW closed its doors soon afterwards, the Iceman would once again find himself in retirement.

Dean Malenko was a respected man during his time in professional wrestling by all of his peers -- allies and foes alike. His ability alone gave him the acknowledgement he deserved, not to mention his winning of two of SCW's most prized championships and never losing either one. His sometimes expressionless face may be mistaken for a lack of emotion. More than likely, it's Malenko's way of being a "cold"-faced killer in the squared-circle.

Dean Malenko now works for the PWF as its most trusted Road Agent.
